Leroy Fer

Their fans wern't very happy about the deal as it was, I think he's just trying to be seen (or heard) doing something to get a fairer deal for them to appease them.

What, like Mirallas?

I just find it a bit strange, tbh.

With Lescott: "Oooh he has dodgy knees" and yet there has never been a problem with them, and he now finds himself playing at the richest club in the world. Stoke turn down Demba Ba, because "Oooh he has dodgy knees", and yet there has never been a problem with them, and he now finds himself playing for possibly the second richest side in the world.

Meanwhile, Mirallas had no dodgy knees, and yet he can't play for more than 30 minutes without getting injured.

And there in a nutshell is why doctors have 6/7 years of medical training.

On the assumption you don't have said years at a medical school would it not be worthwhile leaving such medical judgements to the experts.

p.s. we went ahead and bought Lescott from Wolves in case you forgot. Going against perceived wisdom. We had a good few years out of him then banked a huge profit.

With that experience in the bag I think it safe to assume that Everton are in a good place to make a judgement on Fer.

It's from our side, we want to change the terms of the deal to make some of the fee dependent on appearances.

Does anyone know what specifically is wrong with his knee? I'm intrigued. Maybe they only found one knee cap across both knees?!

From what I can gather it's to do with an old injury not healing 100%.

He played last week and for the past few months. Let's face it, it's not like they didn't know he'd had an injury prior to him being brought over for a medical. It's one of those situations where you take a chance as we have in the past.

Bottom line here (something that cant be proven but you just *know* it when Everton are involved) is that our negotiators have tried to be clever, thinking they had Twente over a barrel so near the deadline day and with them wanting to bring a couple in themselves, by playing hardball. It's backfired and now the deal is dead in the water AND Everton's reputation for conducting deals is on its arse.

Big up to the club on this one. Well played you shower of clowns.

Or Forssell who had dodgy knees, we pulled out, he went to Brum and has barely played football since. I think this is best left up to the experts and the people who put their reputation and jobs on the line by making these decisions.

I think a good idea is to fork over what little money we have, forget about whatever injury history this fellow has, and then hope nothing bad happens over the duration of the contract. We should have just binned the medical really. What a bunch of clowns. Who do they think they are clowning?

To be fair Lescott did have dodgy knees and it was well known while he was with Wolves. But you are right this has Everton written all over it, I cant help but be suspicious

It's not much solace at this point I suppose but I'm reading in a couple of Dutch news items it's become apparent that his court case is regarding a minor offence which he will be fined or at worst have community service. So there's that.

Still think this will go through, the player and Moyes both seem to really want it. Only fear is that Twente have gotten annoyed at our attempts to haggle and refuse to do business anymore. Just our luck to be dealing with one of the few clubs in the Eredivisie that are on firm financial footing.

Oh no, he will have to do it at the weekend.

No you've got that wrong. We went with Lescott. We therefore have form for making the right calls in this area.

Kenwright, Elstone et al have tried to railroad this and have faced a club unwilling to be arsed about with. Now we're looking at the clock nervously for a new name to come up and be signed. That's what you get for penny pinching and leaving it 'till the last 2/3 days of the window.

And you are the most negative pain in the backside I've ever come across!

...players have injuries...it leaves scar tissue...i isn't rocket science to anticipate that...and the club have brought players not 100& after medicals previously.

There's really nowhere to go with that 'they're being sensible' line. They're reneging on a deal that was agreed and using this old injury as an excuse.

Clowns.
