Leroy Fer

Or Forssell who had dodgy knees, we pulled out, he went to Brum and has barely played football since. I think this is best left up to the experts and the people who put their reputation and jobs on the line by making these decisions.

The point being that the 'experts' got it wrong with Lescott and Ba, and possibly Mirallas as well.

With Lescott proving to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League who still carries a price tag of circa 7million, whilst Ba is the best striker playing for the current European Champions.

The people turning down Lescott or Ba were making massive mistakes, and I believe we will be too, if we continue to make a mountain out of a mole hill regarding Fer's supposedly 'dodgy' knees.

Daveks right though, We've tried to be 'smart' to save a little bit of money, They were not going to accept a much lower offer, Why should they? He's one of the best young dutch talents at the moment, We were already getting him at a cheap price for 8m, Just trying to be penny pinchers has potentially ****ed up us losing out on a real good player.

cheers buddy , good to be back (hijack of thread but yea - i lost my auntie + step dad to cancer and my daughter was knocked over by a nutter jumping a red light and was pretty badly mashed up , all in the space of a week - which also just happened to also be my busiest week at work , halloween 2011 , and during my house being renovated and totally gutted.
it was total chaos to say the least. took 4 months to sort out house just in time for my daughter to come out of hospital , 12 months for daughter to recover fully , also had to keep my mum from going under from depression and the business from going under ..... but it took its toll on my relationship of 16 years . so i ended it and with my daughter moved out and started again from scratch in the past summer. found new love , got engaged , just found a house and moving in next week and married in 3 months. onwards and upwards as they say :)

Thats one hell of year. Im only new here but I wish you the best for the future mate.

Our clowns knew Twente have 2 players they're looking to bring in and thought last minute: "let's push for lower than £8M or make it installments based on games played".

Now they have nothing...

No you've got that wrong. We went with Lescott. We therefore have form for making the right calls in this area.

We went with Lescott after screwing Wolves over good style. Lescott's 'dodgy knees' which haven't caused him any problems whatsoever, were used as a means of driving the price down.

We are trying to do the same here, but it looks like Twente aren't having any of it.

They did all right with their sell on clause tbf.

Can't believe the people who blame the club for telling us that they have reached a deal with Twente! If they did not you would be screaming at them for holding back information.

If he has problems with his knees, then of course that is grounds for a re-negotiations. As others have said, if you go and look for a car, find out that there is a problem, you just don't say, "right mate I see that there is a problem with the car, but I will still gladly pay the full price."

Get a grip with the conspiracy theories!

If this doesn't happen, it's gutting, we need a dynamic midfield player like this, who else is left within realistic boundaries? M'Vila gone to Rubin Kazan, Toulouse not willing to sell Capoue until the summer, maybe we'll be left scraping the barrel with a loan deal for Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid or Even Odjidja interest may be resurrected. Mohamed Diame and his release clause is another option like. Just really hoping Fer is signed up though.

Diarra moved to a Russian team during the summer.

I hear theres some guy Bily.... Looks boss on youtube

No one wants to make the same mistakes that were made by some with Bilic.

Mate seriously, Read around, Everyone who HAS seen him play much notes the fact he's meant to be a great player and prospect, Even moyes himself has said it, I don't need to have seen him with my own eyes much to trust others opinion who actually know more about the game then me or you, Especially someone likes Moyes, End of the day from everyone who has seen him it's widely accepted he's a really good player.

Davis as well, he had dodgy knees and hardly played after the move fell through. Will be gutted if the deal falls through as you just know that we won't sign anyone else as we will run out of time and Bill will say we did everything we could to get a deal done but it couldn't happen etc...
