I have just had a call from a mate in the game, not linked with Everton but another Club and this is what he said.... the deal collapsed because Everton wanted to change the terms of payment these were believed to be in the region of £4m upfront and the rest in staged payments over 12 months. However a Club of one of Moyes other "targets" said they could speak to the "target" (I dont know who) and therefore to be able to afford this other "target" had to speak to Twente and restructure a deal. Twente were not interested in what was being offered and the deal collapsed. I trust this person as he is never normally wrong, make what you will of it.

Does this other target's name begin with "M" ?

It wouldn't surprise me if the deal actually goes through. Clearly this injury is not a concern as to pull out right away but is a sufficient concern for us to want to change the terms....if that is the case, then fair enough. If Twente are playing hard ball, then call their bluff by pulling out. If the player wants the deal to happen, then it will happen. If there is another target who we are speaking to, then that's all good too. We can speculate as much as we like but until midnight tomorrow, nobody outside of the club/agents actually knows what is going on

so because Fer has had surgery on his knee and the lids at efc have only just found out they want to haggle on the fee they pay up front

so does that mean if chelsea make a bid for fellaini we would have to stick by that process of thought and agree to a small fee up front of 5 mil with the rest (15-30) based on appearances considering he has had surgery on his ankle in the past.

I would be fuming if we agreed to that, so no wonder Twente are fuming about us doing the same to Fer.

its ridiculous

People are comparing him to really injury prone players... fact is he's only had one bad injury with his knee, And he was only out for 2 months, Not a season or anything, Since he's been back from that injuries all reports say he's been better than before.
stop talking sense mate

Makes sense. The other target must be good for them to do all this.

We'll be signing Fer and this lad before the deadline. HAVE FAITH.

Front page video on the Official Site, attached to tonight's game is Moyes' presser from yesterday complete with lots of chat about Fer, above the story that says the deal's off.

The club's media presence is so slick it hurts.
