Liverpool Echo & Everton

If we were successful and winning stuff we would be all over it. No rag would miss out on the gravy train if we were all the rage. The fact is we are not and get what we project in the press.

Mate. Liverpool haven't won the league in 25 YEARS.

They are NOT successful.

That newspaper is just infested with utter beauts.

They just pretend to write about Everton. With pretentious and condescending rips.

They're not fooling anyone any more.

Do you suppose for one minute they could conceivably find an Evertonian to write about Everton? Is that really too much to expect? You know, someone who cares a bit about us. And, if they claim not to have one then they should go out and find one. Imagine how much fun we Evertonians would have writing about Liverpool's troubles. I for one would be adding in subtle digs at Rodgers mistakes and transfer errors and so on. OK I know I'd be wanting to report something that approached the truth but I'd definitely want to accentuate the negatives as much as I could within the confines of the local rag - after all if they've had such a bad season why aren't they criticising players, managers and the board? Don't they deserve it when it goes wrong?

Theres no professional pride in that rag. They have taken the easy route and standards arent far from Metro.

They should take pride out of neutral approach cause of two teams in the city. You would think that such road would BENEFIT THEM FINANCIALLY TOO (?)....more than biased s***...

Its far deeper than that. The current backlash from Everton supporters is evidence of that coupled with the Echo's supposed pro-active response which is promised by Machray. Evertonians are always realists...they don't flare up for nothing a la RS...as would be the case if it was just a case of The Echo 'ignoring us because were crap' scenario. The paper actively pursues negativity about us.

More cr*p from the LiverpoolFC Echo

My comment at the bottom:

May I echo exactly what SoSD just said - if this article was just about Everton we'd be asking "whatabouttheReds" - since (headline apart) it isn't. Why must the Echo conjure up a post-season article with no newsworthy content whatsoever which suggests (in the title) that Everton fans alone are throwing their toys out the bath? Heaven forfend you should dare to offend the Red element that reads the paper (and who, it must surely be true, will pass this article over with it's Everton-centric title). So you've managed to have a sly dig at Liverpool and no-one's going to notice eh? It's sensationalism (of a very poor quality) and furthermore lacks any journalistic merit. Get real and start reporting on issues, facts and try to use some balance. Until you do we Blues are NOT going to let go off this issue.

Five domestic trophies, a UEFA Cup and a Champions League in 14 years is relatively successful and to deny it is bitter.

They are utter weapons.

The biased reporting is there for all to see.

The massive criticism obviously has them major hurting and they're trying to hit back in the only way they know how.

Writing more tosh.

The rusty boy makes a fine point, we would bite hands off for even 1 of the 7 trophies they have won recently.

I'd rather be dead than act like a deluded weapon because they won a trophy ten years ago.

Last won the league 25 years ago.

Crystanbul. Suarez's tears. Etc.

The ECHO is just a reflection of their utter failure and deluded outlook.

1 Mickey Mouse in the last 9 though and only 1 Top 4 league finish in the last 6.

They're no longer the force they were in this country or on the European scene.

Although not football-related (he is a blue however) Billy Butler has just slated the Echo's negative sensationalist headlines.

"If I bought an Echo as I got off the train at Lime Street, I'd get back on and go home". He's right, apart from them hating Everton, the headlines are all negative in possibly the most upbeat city in the nation.
