As a teenager I stood on the kop in my blue and white attire - with my mate in his red and white gear - we were 2-0 up with 15 mins left cruising to victory = my kopites mate stated he had seen enough and wanted to go for the early bus home - I stated to him no way as we looked likely to add more goals - he reluctantly agreed as we had played them off the park - 15 mins later they had won 3-2 with a last minute Chris Lawler goal - unbelievable, but crap happens last night was just as bad as we were humiliated by a long ball counter attack 3 times one only a bad pen miss stopped the 5-0 - RM gambled on un fit players and it backfired = our squad had no depth, and no luck = by the way that's a pen for the ****e in the last 3 league games - eveb the one last night was dubious but missed anyeway = total humiliation!

Alcaraz rushed back, Jagielka rushed back, Pienaar rushed back, Barkley rushed back. As for Lukaku, it wasn't really him for the majority of the game was it? It was Naismith.

I must admit, I was calling for it for this fixture. They obviously weren't there or thereabouts to start.

I still think it was the right call Martinez made to do it though. He rolled the dice and took the view it was worth the risk in such an emotional game. It didn't work out and I wouldn't criticise the manager or players for it. He went for it and we were just second best to a fully fit and firing on the night opposition.

In reply to people saying we have no leadership on the pitch, you are right and I have been saying the same thing for weeks myself. Jagielka is quiet and miserable and also has no ambition. I say get somebody like Barton in, yes I'm serious when I say that. And no I'm not drunk.

So was I mate. I also think Martinez was absolutely right in going through with playing them. Lets say Alcaraz, Jagielka, Pienaar and Barkley didn't start, can you imagine what our XI would of been?

-----------Howard-----------
Hibbert-Stones--Barry---Baines
-------McCarthy-Osman-------
Mirallas----Naismith---McGeady
-----------Lukaku-------------

Lets ask for a replay and see where that XI would of got us!

Heitinga isn't in the country so wouldn't of started last night.

You on drugs then?

Thing is, you dont know how players will react to the injury and the occasion. It was never ideal, but sending the first teamers out was the only game in town with a realistic chance of getting something. Just one walking wounded and it may have been tolerable. We had a clutch out there.

Important thing for me is that Martinez didn't blink. In for a penny in for a pound in a big game. That's the attitude we need at Everton. If the nobhead owners give him the materials he'll do the job.

Look like it or not the major factor when we face a team like Liverpool is money plain and simple

Since 10/11 they have spent 230m, In the last two windows alone they have forked out nearly 100m

Now put lets put that into perspective, Since the Premier League started in 1992 we have spent 266m

How we compete with them at all is a miracle

Bill does more for the RS than he does for us.

I cant tell if you are being serious or not....

Mate, terrible night of course. Especially if you were there. But we are the same team that went to the Emirates and Old Trafford and took the games by the scruff of their necks. I dont think the courage of this group is to be questioned.

Bottom line is we had too many slotting in at positions they weren't really specialists in and regulars were knackered with injuries.

Liverpool took their chance to exploit that. That's it basically. There's no way our team under Martinez backed off them at Goodison in the Derby. We have the mental strength. We just dont have the resources to overcome what's looking like a WWI casualty list.

This.
