Not going to kick off with Martinez on the back of one game, but there's no getting away from the fact he got it majorly wrong last night. Playing a high line with fairly slow defenders is tantamount to suicide vs Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho and Sterling. Some have said the 4-0 was flattering, IMO it was completely deserved. A bitter, bitter pill to swallow but swallow it we must and move on. Liverpool played well but nothing groundbreaking - injury problems and naivety cost us big time and Liverpool ruthlessly exploited it.

Still have full faith in Martinez, but this is perhaps his biggest test so far now. Injuries and on the back of a derby drubbing. Absolutely massive game Saturday. Need to win.

Bill does more for the RS than he does for us.

Its no surprise that the richest teams in the world are the best is it

Hardly a shock to the system

I think sheer luck has kept us near the top this long

Completely and utterly what i thought when watching it. We just didnt seem to adress it in-game either. We played completely into their hands and to compound things, we barely offered any threat to their backline at all. They could just sit, pick us off and break at pace on a very exposed defence with fullbacks in no mans land.

To livid to be messing with people today boss

Honestly feel like a want to hurt people today, Phoned in sick this morning so I can swerve the whoppers in work
I'm most annoyed at how familiar it all is tbh. We just dont offer a good account of ourselves there and it seems like it will be a greater mental block to overcome than 6 months of relative positivity can achieve.

ive watched it again with a clearer head and tbh i dont think we were too bad and i dont think they were too good.
where they were good was at closing down and getting the ball forward . other than that i thought our football was better than theres overall .
where we failed and it cost us.....
1. first goal - barry lost his man and then took out lukaku
2. barry made a sloppy pass and stones was positionally poor
3 the killer 3rd goal and worst of the lot imo. alcaraz let sturridge go , jags wasnt aware quick enough.both were to blame. a school boy error and a very simple long ball taking out our whole team.
4. 4th goal jags poor pass

we were demoralised but still played on even though we never really looked like scoring.
stones i can forgive ...he is young and in hindsight perhaps shouldnt have even been playing at rb ahead of hibbert.
barry alcaraz and jags need to take a long hard look at there performance . In those brief moments of sloppy play they cost us 4th , dented our pride and let there team mates ,clubs history and fans down.

Playing a high line against the quickest attack in the league got AVB the sack. (Sort of).

Martinez will have to learn from this.

Probably the reason we went so much for them. I think Martinez was trying to change that mentality with a big 'look, we're in your house just like we did with Arsenal and what are you going to do about it' statement. Difference was he was playing with a full hand at the Emirates and Old Trafford. Perversely, his attempt to wipe out that mental block might inhibit him the next time we tip up there. I hope not. I love his approach to these big games...as bitter as the taste of defeat is right now.

They have a strangle hold over us at there gaff make no mistake, A win is needed there a.s.a.p to alter that

But as my above post, When a team has spent as much as us since the prem started in 4 years you can see where the main problem is

a dark night, and now a dark day but come on there's still a bit of light at the end of the tunnel......but christ our engine is starting to wheeze.

statistically = still a lot to still feel positive about
psychologically = a serious HIT to the future
