Imo he didn’t mean it as others have said only Digne will know for sure. I think there was a few other factors that have influenced the refs decision.

About 5 minutes beforehand he’d clatter in to Bednarek and var reviewed a possible use of the elbow. Then if you watch Walker-Peters he sort “snaking” his run very subtlety and he changes direction just before the contact. Now I’m in no way implying it’s his fault but it makes me believe it is no way deliberate but it did look really bad.

That and the fact the RS have been bleating all week about Pickford of course.

Just don't see this as a straight red. If you watch Digne, he puts his hands up as he can Allan coming over to cover and at that moment Walker Peters slows and starts to move to the left and that is when he catches him. Complete accident and no way should be a 3 game ban. I suspect it will be reduced to 1 for the referee and VAR to save face

This, our card has been very much marked now because of last week and i would hope that Carlo has pulled all the players and reminded them to be a bit more responsible as the refs/VAR are going to jump on us anytime they can imo.
