How on gods earth is Pickford getting the blame for this. It may have been an accident or it may have been deliberate by Digne, but it definitely was not the fault of Pickford.....

I am blaming the press as much if not more than Pickford. Either way it's changed the way the world looks at us, just as things had started to go our way.. you can bet a lot of our new positive media attention and worldwide fans have been turned off us after that. I'm not a Pickford hater (although we do need a new keeper) it's unfortunate, but this guy is costing us in more ways than one.

That's on the case of it being an 'absurd' appeal. I remember Jeremy Aliadere had a game added to his suspension cuase they appealed him slapping a red at anfield i think.

It's not violent conduct, though. So it should get reduced to one game. It won't do, but it should be reduced.

Surely intent is everything in these scenarios? It’s a straight red if you put your head in someone’s face. But if it’s a coming together whilst jumping for a header, it’s not even a foul.

The thing that really annoys me about Digne getting sent off is the Son scenario from last year. Son lashed out at Gomes which caused him to get seriously injured. Ref didn't see it so VAR comes in and says to send him off. Then Spurs be a giant bag of cox that they are appeal it and it gets overturned. But with Digne, it's a coming together and VAR says "nothing to overturn here as it's not a clear error"?
