He used to always be the go-to-guy until the club absolutely shunned him out. Now he's no quicker or better. His bias always shines through

Maybe you go back further than me. In my time the national journalists who get Everton info are King, Bascombe, Hunter and Joyce. That is still the case, it hasn't changed at all as far as I can see. He's a kopite (as are the other 3 i think?) but he is always among the first to break things and I can't remember him being wrong too many times when breaking a story. In this instance, he's basically the first one to say Digne is going to be offered a new contract. I'd be very surprised if that's not true, you obviously don't believe him, that's fair enough.

It's not that I dont believe him, just that he is very, very biased and doesn't deserve the followers. Dom King, in my experience even though hes a red has been fien when reporting in the past, positive and negative things said about Everton.

Joyce has generally been behind in more recent times. He used to be the #1 reporter for inside info on both clubs but something happened and he's definately been pushed back. Maybe he's being let in again if he is the first to break Digne news.

I generally take the Athletic as the most reliable (i think thats Paddy Boyland and O'Keefe now?) as well as Fabrizio Romano if he mentions anything with us. His track record is remarkable. Also the Athletic is a good read in general too rather than just for breaking news.

Can't help but think we've stumbled upon a solid back 4 without Digne. Given his strengths lie in his attacking ability, is it worth trying him ahead of Godfrey on the left wing? Would give us Godfrey's defensive stengths & Digne's attacking.

Hmm not sure I think a lot of Dignes success is a result of Richarlison cutting inside and freeing up space for Digne to get a free cross in. I think teams would just double up on him and easily cut him out if he’s isolated on the wing. Definitely agree about Godfrey playing well enough not be dropped. Tough and probably much welcomed decision to make by Ancelotti though.

Could always move Richarlison to the right or in the middle and give DCL or Iwobi a rest. Then Digne could play on the left ahead of Godfrey.

Digne will have to come back into the team because of his quality but it seems counterintuitive to unsettle a back 4 that has been stopping everything recently, and has only conceded one penalty in 4 league games.
