I have seen teams with that little life (well, OK, not Norwich levels) at this stage of the game get to 40. The form table tends to support your contention, with Brentford the only bottom half side to have gotten more than five points from their last five fixtures. That's pretty dire.
I don't know that we'll get 30 more points, but we only need a measly point per game from here to feel very secure about staying up. The only losses by the top half to the bottom half in the last five fixtures were the Watford loss that got Solskjaer fired and Arsenal's loss to us. Even draws are pretty infrequent. The bottom half is bad this season...
...and we're in it.

How is that going to help us rebuild?
Out of all the positions we need to strengthen, left back was way down the list. A loan would be nuts if the object in January is to generate funds to sign players now.
Even if it’s a transfer, It’s not like the money we make will all go on a centre mid or winger. We’ll have to spend to replace our left back that didn’t need replacing first. Other areas of the pitch will just see what’s left over.
To those saying Digne is crap…why would the current champions league holders and title challengers want him if that’s the case? We’re not going to get better selling our best players. Rafael’s off his head.
You do realise this leaves Kenwright and Moshiri to pick a manager right?
If Brands was about at least we'd have a chance at an informed opinion.

I get why people don’t like Brands, but losing him halfway a campaign was madness.
Absolutely no football knowledge on the board now, and how do people think we are going to sign new players? Benitez going to have the time and skills to charm them? Absolutely no chance of that.
If we manage to sign anyone it will be some garbage that Benitez had at Newcastle.

The way Benitez phrased it just then was that 'he's been training normally but has taken himself out because he's said he's unwell', practically passing it off to him.
There's deffo been a breakdown between the two, either way.
