I don't think he's making it up either. I do think Digne is just showing Benitez the consequences of his man management style.

He's used injuries as a reason for poor performances then choses to drop a fit first team player due to a disagreement. Labels said player that he was not playing for the "team" - basically saying, we don't need you.

So as we're thin on the ground, the manager decides to bring him back in the fold. Said player has basically said no.

Consequences to actions in my book. Digne knows he'll have plenty of top clubs after him, so why play for this manager who has questioned his commitment for the team.

Was leaked to journalists who write for the Athletic that some players were questioning Rafael's tactics after our run of games and felt he wasn't getting the best out of their attributes.

IE...Digne was singled out as the main one who felt his attacking side of the game wasn't being utilised.

Listening to the Echo podcast, they’re not shy of defending the club.

Even they’re saying by all accounts they’ve only ever heard Digne is a top professional. Not having this revisionist rubbish that he’s a lazy mercenary who’s part of the problem.

You’ve got a fat toad with zero people skills, a record of falling out with big name players because of his dogmatic authoritarianism.

The worst thing is you’ve got blues supporting this divisive egotist in getting rid of a french international left back. There is absolutely no defence of this situation, it’s terrible people management, it’s killing the mood in the squad and the manager’s heavy handed (no pun intended) approach is to the detriment of the team.
