Listening to the Echo podcast, they’re not shy of defending the club.

Even they’re saying by all accounts they’ve only ever heard Digne is a top professional. Not having this revisionist rubbish that he’s a lazy mercenary who’s part of the problem.

You’ve got a fat toad with zero people skills, a record of falling out with big name players because of his dogmatic authoritarianism.

The worst thing is you’ve got blues supporting this divisive egotist in getting rid of a french international left back. There is absolutely no defence of this situation, it’s terrible people management, it’s killing the mood in the squad and the manager’s heavy handed (no pun intended) approach is to the detriment of the team.
Exactly. Palace first half you can tell they hate playing for him and his tactics.

I'm not actually defending Benitez on this, Lucas was poor under Carlo too, when a player offers nothing too TWO champions league winning managers you notice a pattern
He was absolutely fine for Carlo until he picked up an injury middle of last season. Which, in my opinion, he's not been the same after.

If it has effected him then it may well be the right time to punt. But we really do need a replacement lined up.

As vice captain surely it’s Digne’s job to raise concerns about the playing style if it’s yielding such pathetic results. Equally, as an individual he has a right to question his boss if he is being utilised in totally the wrong way.

I really don’t see what he’s done to warrant the vitriol he’s receiving from Benítez and seemingly some of our fans. Benitez on the other hand is at the helm of a ship that’s sinking fast and is slinging one of his best deckhands overboard because he told him the ship was sinking.

Absolute Everton.

that's simply not true, he was fantastic after Ancelotti joined in 19/20 and was one of our best prior to injury in 20/21

Digne crossing it DCL was almost an automatic goal for a while

Thanks to excellent work from DCL, if he had been playing this season Townsend would of had plemty more assists

He has every right not to want to play for a man who tried to make an example of him publicly and hung him out to dry in front of the football World.

This isn't just a football issue. This is far wider issue. Most people would want out of their job if their boss hung them out to dry publicly in front of their peers to try and deflect from their own failings.

I think we need to punt as its gone stale and we do need some incoming money, something has to give, Godfrey can play there

I think it also has to considered, the entire team during the second half of the season was shambolic especially our ability to mount an attack without a functional midfield so i imagine that affected his performance too.

…so, before Benitez came you rated Digne and said he was one of Brands only successes because of his crosses, yet since Benitez came you argue FBs need to be good defenders first and foremost & you’re not interested if they are primarily good going forward.

As clear as fog.
I told you what the sequence of events was; I cant teach the hard of learning.

How can you call any one a judas when you're making multiple posts "hoping we loose to Chelsea" .

I get that a forum is meant to create discussion and back and forth, but can we not just get rid of these absolute extremists helmets?

Digne is a world class full back (Admittedly he's been poor this season - but it's quite obvious why), who is being asked to play football by a coach who isn't fit or a Sunday league side.
Everton supporter doesn't want Liverpool to win the league. How hard is THAT to understand?

A football club isn't a commune; it's a workplace with hierarchy.

Maybe someone should explain the concept to Monsieur fancy 'kin Dan?
