His former club doing him a favour

Even they refused to pay up front
I like Lucas.
He's been a very good signing.
He's getting to the wrong side of his career for a modern day fullback.
His past 12 months has been average at best.
If we can get a decent fee that allows us in short term to fix problem areas in exchange for giving up what Lucas currently brings to the table im fine with it.
Thank him for his services and as most are saying, he'll be going to bigger and better things.

Watch football matches. What a load of absolute crap those stats are.

I have. And he wasn't a problem until a month ago when the Tactitian made it one.

But sure. He's 28 and we're gonna "fleece" a club £30mill for his services (more like £20mill) cos he's poor.

No that’s what I’m saying, I’m saying he has been below average for a while. And yes I was saying that last season and at the start of this season before it looked like he was leaving.

Whole team has. He still offered some quality, still bagged assists, and was a threat in attack - the one of very few parts of the squad where you can say "that's fine"..

It's the idea that he's completely hopeless defending now that the master tactitian has taken defending to the next level (sarcasm btw), when last season defence was our strong point.

Additionally this lad coming in is going to help Benitez with his vision that Digne couldn't? We'll see
