…I’m not convinced that Moshiri is a strategist but if this is all part of the reasoning he brought Benitez in, then it is looking more about change than stability.

i thought it was a safe pair of hands on the tiller, a very decent coach who would have the team well organised and solid. I’m very surprised how poor a coach he’s been so perhaps this is about drastic change, more about off the field matters than on-field & managed through confrontation and conflict.
When something's unstable you dont just leave it...it doesn't just correct itself and 'become stable'. You have to address what's causing the instability and remove it and replace it to make it stable.

In Everton's case, you remove the people causing the instability and replace them with people who can steady the club. Some of the removal has taken place and some of the replacements for them will happen in the near future.

That's where we are 6 months into Benitez's tenure

Moyes certainly didn’t take an axe to the playing staff immediately. It was slow and methodical, not this mad Texas Chainsaw Massacre approach we are now unfortunately witnessing.

He took the (mainly average) squad that Walter left behind , galvanised them via man management and he got immediate results. Which is what a decent manager would do.

It’s the manager not the players. Benitez is a bad, divisive and failing manager so he is obviously going to blame the players to deflect from his own incompetence.
Rafael Benitez might be a divisive manager but he’s managed to live in your head and a few others, rent free, ever since he’s been here. Anyway…….. Lucas Digne

"By all accounts"?
Whose accounts?
Just stuff like drink driving arrests, missing important games due to being at Neymar’s party, missing games due to catching nasty STIs, getting disciplined at both Juve and Barca for not turning up to/being late at training

If he’s doing all that stuff at Barca and Juve imagine what he’d be like here

…your opinion of course. Time will tell.

To be fair in his second full season we got 39 points and finished 17th. Would Moyes have survived in these days of Social Media?

He also bought Lie Tie, Yobo and Richard Wright. Following season Kilbane, McFadden, Martyn and loaned Jeffers.
Not a stellar first two years for Moyes.

Moyes first season was stellar. In fact a total breath of fresh air.

Of course it earnt him a second season pass.

Benitez has taken us from comfortable mid table to racking a wrecking ball to the club and dragging us into the relegation more.

Totally different situations.

So you are Benitez out now then?
