2021/22 Lucas Digne

If Lucas Digne goes to Juventus and Arthur Melo comes the other way the we have made a good deal. Giving that Mykolenko will also be bought. My opinion.
Melo’s attitude absolutely stinks by all accounts, Benitez won’t touch him

I think, unfortunately you are so wrong. Tearing things down, all in one fell swoop, cannot be a good thing unless there is a clear plan going forward. There is no evidence whatsoever that Everton, or Benitez are capable of carrying out such change. They are both capable of ripping down, building up is a different kettle of fish.

I'm not sure if you are trying to provoke a response with your position on this, or if you are burying your head in the sand with your wish to see Brands, Ferguson Baines etc al, out of the club. What I would say is this, go back a few months to your previous, long held, position on both Benitez and Moshiri and explain to yourself why you suddenly have confidence in two people you have so constantly ridiculed and reviled, to carry out this gargantuan task.

I'm giving you an explanation to your question about where Benitez fits in to a club clear out and stabilisation, you're giving me a tired old argument about what I said about a Liverpool manager.

You cant deny we need change, but you wont accept a view of how that change takes place AND aren't prepared yourself to advance a model for it.

Moyes certainly didn’t take an axe to the playing staff immediately. It was slow and methodical, not this mad Texas Chainsaw Massacre approach we are now unfortunately witnessing.

He took the (mainly average) squad that Walter left behind , galvanised them via man management and he got immediate results. Which is what a decent manager would do.

It’s the manager not the players. Benitez is a bad, divisive and failing manager so he is obviously going to blame the players to deflect from his own incompetence.
James and possibly Digne?

Texas chainsaw massacre?

Yet again Dave, do you believe that Moshiri and Benitez are the men to trust with the kind of root and branch rebuild you are telling us we have embarked upon?

Please answer that question, not some other questions which I have not asked for answers to.

Moshiri, no. Benitez, yes.

I dont envisage Benitez to do more heavy lifting than getting roles that effect the fooball side of the club settled and shifting out the rubbish players and those unwilling to adopt the right attitude of squad ethic.

It would then be up to his successor to build on that and take us forward.

In this instance Dave they come as a pair, one of them can't do the job without the other, so, we have people who you have consistently referred to as a 'carpet bagger' and a ' kin joke of a manager' and you will entrust them with our future.

This has been your position for many years until the past few months. Perhaps there is room for Duncan Ferguson in your master plan, as perhaps DOF, whilst you are having so many changes of heart.

Anyway back on topic, Lucas Digne hey. Reminds me of Leighton Baines, now there's a thought Leighton for assistant manager..

Transfers are part and parcel, it's the way it has come about that leaves a sour taste, in a position where we needed a back up to now needing a starter and back up, while still not addressing other areas like RB is bad management.

The bit in bold - can’t believe you can have a serious debate with him for this reason alone.

…I’m not convinced that Moshiri is a strategist but if this is all part of the reasoning he brought Benitez in, then it is looking more about change than stability.

i thought it was a safe pair of hands on the tiller, a very decent coach who would have the team well organised and solid. I’m very surprised how poor a coach he’s been so perhaps this is about drastic change, more about off the field matters than on-field & managed through confrontation and conflict.

I understand what you are saying, but given the repeated failure under successive regimes, doesnr something have to be done by whoever is in charge?

All the more so by Benitez because of the pressure from fans who don’t want him here. Moyes had time, Benitez doesn’t. Therefore he has to take drastic measures.
