Just my opinion Kev. I don't want him either. He’s using the bullying and threats because he has no relevant footballing or tactical opinions to offer the players.
Was in a mess last year also and most of the previousNo what you need is someone who is prepared to coach and manage players not use threats and bullying tactics in lieu of that.
Unfortunately the waiter has none of those qualities which is why the whole thing is a mess.
Not at this level what are you blabbering on about. Was in a mess last year also and most of the previous
The same manager tells us we play well every week and that he’s pleased with the players. Do you believe that too?Naive beyond belief.
Everyone knows what happended because the manager told us and the player never felt the need to correct him...which any player would accused of that.
Why are you defending this player when he's decided he wants out?
Did you defend Barmby?
24hr a day training and no family time. Very modern thinking.Possibly some sort of training ? ?
Nice try, but he simply hasn’t downed tools. He isnt driving out Richarlison, DCL, Pickford, Doc, Mina, Allan or Gray, they are all ready to play for him, only one downing tools is Lucas who has less goals and assists then Iwobi this season.
The only person he drove out was Btands
You surely do not expect your manager to mishandle relations with your LB so badly that you are forced to ask your bosses to scrabble round for a replacement mid season? We were never keeping Digne until retirement. That just wasn’t happening with a player of his profile. So he was going to leave at some point for a profit. That’s how we have to operate as a club. Richarlison and probably DCL will also go at some point. That’s how all clubs apart from perhaps City Madrid and Barcelona operate. Even PSG are under pressure to sell Mbappe because he thinks Madrid are a step up.
We’ve always had an unnatural aversion to selling our good players, all clubs do it though. We’ve actually kept hold of ours a lot longer than most. Since selling Lukaku Stones Barkley, the only first team player we’ve really sold is Gueye and that was for a very good price. Most other mid table clubs would have had Digne Richarlison DCL Docuoure out the door after a season or two to bigger clubs.
Agreed on that, he has just been rubbishNice try, but he simply hasn’t downed tools.
No, that’s a gross exaggeration.Agreed on that, he has just been rubbish
I don’t have a problem with a manager being definite about what he wants. This squad and club has needed some tough love. Even if all it does is jokt us into working out what we do actually want.,You surely do not expect your manager to mishandle relations with your LB so badly that you are forced to ask your bosses to scrabble round for a replacement mid season?
All this when the squad is small and the finances tight.
Whichever way you approach this situation it points to poor management.
The manager as good as said he was in conflict with Digne over him training and then not making himself available to be chosen for the game the following day.The same manager tells us we play well every week and that he’s pleased with the players. Do you believe that too?
Silence from the player is not an acceptance of wrong-doing. Keeping his opinion to himself isn’t a crime. Spewing your guts to the local media when stuff like that should be kept internal isn’t what I want from the manager.
And that’s not strictly true either. He’s been a key provider of chances for us since he joined, however under Benitez he doesn’t have license to attack - everyone knows how Benitez sets up and approaches games, and anyone with an ounce of football intelligence would see Digne’s strengths are a) not suited to that dull, unimaginative tripe and b) it consequently makes him less effective.Agreed on that, he has just been rubbish
Come on Dave, explain what “as good as said” really means. I’d say it means “didn’t say”.The manager as good as said he was in conflict with Digne over him training and then not making himself available to be chosen for the game the following day.
Nearly every one on here and other Everton forums took up a position either pro or anti the manager on his stance on Digne, so let's not concoct some retrospective "it didn't happen" scenario now.
He doesn't want to play for the club; he wants his move. Fine, the 'kin spanner will soon have his wish.
