Grealish had a buy-out clause. Villa didn't actually need the money at all. They've got owners who could pump money in without having to worry about FFP this year. They spent the money knowing they would get £100m back but they didn't absolutely need it to do so.

It'll go down to the wire this one mate. It'll be who blinks first.
Loan with a view to pretending to have any intention of buying.

Bill usually gets decent value for players we sell

It’s one aspect of the job he actually isn’t bad at

Had a nice fee lined up for Barkley until Barkley himself decided to pull out and wait till January

Fellaini, Lukaku, Stones

We normally sell well under Kenwright

Should have got double for Rooney though Mikey. He was a 50m player in the making as soon as he broke into the first team. He simply had that wow factor.

The fact that he's Utds leading scorer and won a bucketful of trophies shows us we sold far too cheap. What a deal they got out of him.

30m? I'll snap the hand off anyone who offers that. About time Everton got overpaid instead of the other way around.
No idea if the new signings are good enough but im more excited at the possibility of getting younger hungry players in. As opposed to what ive been watching the past few years of a squad assembled with no character and no fight. Digne is part of that.
First of many out the door i hope.

In general though Bill does well when it comes to getting value for sales

Didnt Newcastle offer more, but Rooney dug his heels in for Utd.

Probably mate, we had a great chance though to absolutely roast someone for a huge fee. 25m was like £5 when you think about how good he was and his potential.

Was a shockingly bad deal mate given his age and what he went onto achieve. We were done like a kipper though too. He threw in a transfer request a week before the window shut. We were nearly relegated the season before - we did however qualify for the CL the year after we sold him though, was incredible really.

Remember Bill came out and said he wouldn’t sell him for 50 mill a couple of months before.

Im convinced we didn’t even get the full fee, Neville and Howard were worked in there some how.
