And what bargaining power do we have for a player that the manager now refuses to use, hasn't been playing and seemingly doesn't like the manager so wants out of the club.

We've just paid £11m for a lad with 15 senior starts but it's alright, Rangers' chairman has hailed Kenwright for being a "true gentleman" - aye, probably because we paid above and beyond what they'd expected in their wildest dreams.

The bargaining power comes from the fact that there are about 5 clubs interested. They’ll bid against each other, whoever wants him most will pay the most.

Everyone knew Grealish was off mate same with Digne.

Absolutely no chance he stays at Everton past this window imo - I wouldn't be shocked if a deal with Chelsea hasn't already been agreed tbh.

Clubs on the brink of breaking FFP dont go spend £30 million as quickly as us unless we knew he was off unless someone like Holgate is a suprise departure which the club knows about yet hasn't hit the media.
Of course they knew he was going but they could spend it anyway without being knackered P&S wise. They had the leeway.

Everton are very unlikely to be able to spend £30m (which we have done) on two FBs without shifting Digne in some capacity that guarantees a fee. Which again, is why there's no bargaining power.

Nothing good has come from him being ditched from the team. We've lost a good player who we now have no power to go to the table with interested clubs over.

That's it though, but let's say it's Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham.

Digne wants Chelsea, so that's already power in their hands. It's not like they're coming to us when they came for Stones. Benitez has made sure the whole world knows (not just the footballing world) that Digne isn't part of his plans. It's madness mate. The bloke's a freak.

Chelsea arent the club we want after him if we are wanting paid.
Theyve Alonso covering atm for Chilwell who they threw massive money on 18mth ago so they wont be looking at him as long term option.
Rom will be offering us a loan til end of season.

Not according to someone on here last week, saying villa in similar trouble to us. Obviously they’ve now got 100mil in, but they’ve only spent what they brought in. Let’s see what they spend on the next few windows
They were not in similar trouble to us at all as they had not been anywhere near the going over on P&S. Would they have spent all of that money if Grealish wasn't going? Probably not. They'd have been able to spend a fair bit of it just fine though. They knew whatever happened, Grealish was going for a record fee. There was no negotiating. City paid £100m, the buy out clause.

So Digne P/L figures are:

Yearly Wage: 4.68 mill.
Amort: 3.60 mill.
Annual Cost P/L: 8.28 mill.
Book Price: 7.2 mill.

If we sold for 30 mill, we clear 22.8 mill and save 8.28 mill of of our cost base. Less our liability for our new full backs.
