So let’s wait till the end of the window and sell on the last day, then scrape around for a replacement. This is how you should do business imo. We also don’t know how close the deal is. We couid have been in negotiations with Chelsea or another club for a while
The man didn't need replacing fullstop, he's either gonna be sold to a direct rival or eternally loaned out until the fatman has gone or he leaves on a free.

Don't think he'll really strengthen many teams that are linked with him because he's a very limited player nowadays. I think he'll living off of his repetition and the unfortunate winner of his driving signing will realise that too late. Let's get 25m for him and wish him well.
And watch on as he drives a 30 yard screamer into the top corner at the Street End for Chelsea lol

Well we needed to sell somebody, and we will again in the summer. As our finances aren’t in great shape. And the choice is him, Pickford, DCL or Richarlison and Digne is the obvious choice.

Yes we’d all love it, if clubs were throwing millions at us for Gomes, iwobi, Davies, Holgate. But it doesn’t look like they’re, so we have to cut our cloth, as they say.

It’s really not difficult to understand for most. All so the 2 kids we’ve just signed have been on our radar well before the fatman showed up, so who says the men above Rafael are quite happy to see Digne leave

Theres not many top left backs around these days...

Also, if you check out the top left backs u23 then theres only half a dozen who are going to be top class. Hard to see (m)any of them being available so Digne looks a good option in the experienced group.

I think Digne will be off to Newcastle or Chelsea and the fee will be £25-30mil.

Newcastle have spent around £15mil down on Trippier with another £10mil in clauses.

I said before £30mil+ is a very good deal. £25mil is ok...below that its disappointing.
And my issue with how it's been handled by Everton (Benitez) is that we aren't helping ourselves get a good deal.

That's fine mate, nobody is arguing against that, Digne is a sellable asset.

But the issue is the way it's been handled. He's not been sold in January because that was a plan. He's been sold in January because Benitez is stubborn and arrogant.

And Benitez's woeful handling of the situation will not help us do that.
Yes it’s probably knocked a bit off the price, but let’s see how much he goes for, before jumping the gun

He was a 40mil full back, but his age, covid, clubs finances, loss of form. Have put pay to that

But if the club/manager , needed players in January. Then somebody was getting sold

Yeah I think £30m for one of your best players, who's a very good player anyway, a regular France full-back, one of the best attacking FBs in Europe in terms of output since he joined us, is fair.

But we'll be lucky to get that. We only get that from a side like Newcastle who are desperate, and I don't think Digne would want to go there, in all honesty.

Chelsea will hold the bargaining power as the player will want to go there, and Chelsea - for all their massive spending power - won't be 'rinsed' (not that we should have to rinse anybody, Digne's a good player, it's not like we're trying to get £15m for Delph or anything)

Yes that's fine, again.

But one of the players we've brought in, wasn't actually needed right now. They're needed because Benitez will refuse to play Digne...

Away from that, once again selling Digne is fine, but it's how you go about it. Bombing him out of the team to the detriment of absolutely everything. Nothing has improved from Digne being bombed out, has it?

By all accounts we have 4 prem clubs after him. So why not?
Bidding wars are very rare these days because of the involvement of agents and the power players have. If Chelsea are in for him and Digne wants to go there then his agent will tell Chelsea what to bid and they'll sit tight until we cave and accept it it's not like the old days when clubs were almost blind bidding against eachother.
