Bidding wars are very rare these days because of the involvement of agents and the power players have. If Chelsea are in for him and Digne wants to go there then his agent will tell Chelsea what to bid and they'll sit tight until we cave and accept it it's not like the old days when clubs were almost blind bidding against eachother.
Fair enough mate, but if we set the bar high enough from the outset we can only be bid down.

Good job the manager is very publicly bombing him out then. Always leads to getting a good price for a player.

Will end up at Chelsea with no obligation to buy and will be the next player with value who goes on the never ending Everton loan cycle before leaving on a free.
You don’t want a bet on that do you?

He may end up at Chelsea for a cheaper price. But if we’ve got 25mil bids from another club or two, then Chelsea won’t be getting him
On loan with no obligation . Because we agree to a price. Yes he couid say I’m not going there. But he’s on contract for another 3.5 yrs.

Sitting in the stand won’t help him or his World Cup chances, I also appreciate that’s not great for us either. Worse case scenario imo is a loan with an obligation for Chelsea

Dark days ahead for us you feel.

If only we had spent the £450 million since Moshiri came aboard correctly.

Walsh and Brands need tar and feathering for the money wasted.
Walsh on record saying some of his recommended signings were ignored by the hierarchy.

It appears we are only spending now due to the calamitous situation we find ourselves in.

Both Walsh and Brands had stellar CVs before coming to Everton.

Yet they are the problem?

So, this group of players didn't get Martinez sacked, Holgate wasn't a regular was he?
Itls the CULTURE of the playing staff (underscored by the same gang of divvies and old boys employed as first team coaches) that is the problem.

That's what Benitez has been brought in to get shut of...and that takes time and it needs a lot of cracking of heads.

Good luck to him I say.

Ah I see, so these players didn't, in fact, get Martinez sacked. But I see now its Ferguson and Baines you're having a go at. Another installment in the never ending story.

I don’t think anyone of the clubs board or training staff come out of this smellng of roses, but, you constantly defend the second biggest problem we have, after Moshiri, I refer, of course, to Benitez.

Anyone who can defend Benitez after Sunday is beyond me. He is a compete mess, and yet, you want him to take complete control. OK Dave, no point in further discussion, I just can't see any sense in your continued support of him

If we don’t change anything, then the last 7 years might just magically repair themselves, here’s hoping.
The results on the pitch are poor now. But if we can keep Benitez in place for another 18 months many of the issues above him in the boardroom and underneath him amongst the playing / coaching staff will disappear.

I just hope he gets the chance to carry it out. Moshiri surely knows sticking with Benitez is the only course open to him if he wants to address the culture of amateurism.

If Digne could get the balance right, between defending and attacking, that would help. His actual defending has been 2nd rate for quite some time.
When going forward, his crosses are usually a) hitting the first defender, b) woefully overhit, or c) cut back to nobody running in on them.
