If both of our new full backs are combined better than Digne/Coleman (no guessing required to which one drags that combo down) and are being paid by losing Digne then you have to say that is good business given his age, this is what we should be doing as a club.

I didn't want him to go but if our players are going then that is exactly how to do it.

Price will tell us his worth to them.
£50m for Chilwell and £26m for Alonso in 2016…..
He will have a fight on his hands when BC is fit I suspect, and I wouldn’t say it’s a foregone conclusion he’s guaranteed ahead of Alonso.
There’s even an argument that it’s In their interest to prevent WHU picking him up.

I have little faith that even if we found that player, Benitez would use him in an effective and efficient way.

They don’t just have a first XI though, they have a proper squad fit to compete in 4 competitions. They’d easily find room for him to play 40+ games next season, he’d waltz ahead of Barkley and Loftus-Cheek in the pecking order straight away. Jorginho and Kante will both be 31 in the summer too so he’s a ready made replacement for them long term. He ain’t going anywhere.

I agree. He’s 28, we’ve had some good years out of him and he’s a saleable asset. He obviously signed hoping to play European football here and that hasn’t worked out. Time to cash in and hopefully the younger players will come in and impress.

Not happy about the way this has come about but it makes sense from a business perspective if we get a decent fee for him.

Number 10. Lukaku /new striker plays. Mount basically playing every game. So that leaves
One spot, competing with Pulsic, havertz, zieych Amd CHO.

He will only play 40
Games in an injury crisis alnd
If they get far in the league and FA cup
