I agree with you here Dave.

What is happening is a culture change. Players no longer coming here looking for an easy pay day. Instead, like the rest of us, they have to follow directions and work hard in order to get paid. Drop the dead weight and bring in young, hungry players trying to establish themselves.

That's not the case here. Raffa has let it slip a little here about what's happened...

"So you feel like he's put himself ahead of the team then? That's what you're saying?

Benitez: No what I say is that a team that finished tenth, and someone is worried about the stats, it changes nothing for me like I said before.

I don't want to finish tenth. I would like to be in a much better position now, I'm not stupid, but I don't want to finish tenth.

I want to finish as high as possible and I want to be sure Everton is growing and improving - and we create a winning mentality for the future.

It will take some time, yes, but in the meantime you need players who really want to be here.

Again, I will ask the question - Peter Reid, what will he say if a player doesn't want to be here? Would he be happy with this player, supportive of this player?

The fans will be supportive of this player? It's what we have to consider, what we want to do in the future.

We want to try and grow and improve, or just to manage the egos and then leave the team behind depending on the egos?"

Sounds to me he's said he played better last season, here's why and the Spanish Master has had none of it.

Only one feller has had a wobbler here in my eyes...and it's not Digne. He's also just admitted Digne HASNT put himself in front of the team.

Waiter has then attacked him in the media. Standard response. Fachts

I'm sick and tired of the lies and misinformation being spread about this lad now. We're supposed to believe that he just doesn't want to play for the club anymore despite happily signing a contract extention less then a year ago. It doesn't take a genius to work out what the problem is here, there's only been one significant change to the club during the time since he signed his extention and now and its the manager in the dugout. The same manager that has a proven track record for telling lies about players he's fallen out with and being as spiteful as possible about how he gets rid of them. Digne will go on to have a very good career elsewhere after he leaves us, the club he signs for will pick up a bargain, the manager will have his rotten ego placated and his little moral victory, the only loser here is Everton Football Club.
Indeed. Never before in the history of football has a player signed a lucrative new deal and then had their head turned by another club/fallen out with the manager/generally just decided to do one.

Amazing how people can twist history to bolster their agenda .
Where have I twisted anything? It is a fact that Digne was happy to sign a contract extention less then a year ago. It is a fact that the only major change since that time is the manager in the dugout. It is a fact that Benitez has a track record for (and this is the nicest way I can say it) being flexible with the truth regarding players that he falls out with.

So, if the "club" has made it clear that they are ready to throw you out for their benefit, you should just accept the club's decision even if it is detrimental to "your" future.

If I am not mistaken, Digne has made it clear that he would like to continue playing for France and at some point in time also in Europe. If he get's the chance to do that, he will push off, but if he is being flogged to NewCastle and such, why should he? He is an employee of the club, not a slave. He can exercise his choice, and full power to him if does so.

Get your "super-negotiating pants on" and get him to a club that suits his and your own purposes.... I hear WestHam are interested, maybe Chelsea as well. Get it done. I am sure it can be done.

What's the problem with that?

As to the highlighted word in your post, I guess it takes one to ....... lol
Dave lives in a fantasy reality where players of any background care as much about whether Liverpool win the leag... sorry, as much about Everton football club as he does.

Digne should do everything he can to do what's best for Everton, not himself, regarding this transfer that was forced upon him by Benitez, at least according to Dave's mad "logic".

Sure. It happens all the time. But you'd have to be blind am/or deluded to not be able to put together the pieces in this particular case given the history of both the player and the manager.......

Managers tactics aren’t working, player questions manager.

Manager is an odious, stubborn oaf and takes it out on players

Fans stand by player because the player is right
So why is it only Digne who seems to have a problem?
