Ultimately we as fans dont know what goes on mate.

For all we know Digne's overstepped the mark and Benitez has told him to do one.

Not saying Benitez could be less stubborn but thats what he is so as manager the players should be smart enough to know not to go to war with him.

Was the same with Moist - Van Der Meyde claims he was a tosser towards him after issues with one another occured, Drenthe was left out of a cup semi final for turning up for training late.

We never moaned back then because we had standards in the fanbase and accepted the manager is the boss. 6 years of "hollywood" and extravagant signings under Moshiri has made our fanbase soft.
Oh yeah sure, thanks for putting us all straight with that.
Honestly, I’ve read some garbage in this forum but this takes the absolute piss.

Its true - the fans automatically take the players side on anything (see Rodriguez buggering off on a flight prior to his team mates getting roasted by Man City and Evertonians not able to see him in the final home game of the season).

And we wonder why footie players are over indulged primadonnas these days.

I think most people were angry at James for that and angry that the club let it happen?

Ultimately the club made those decisions. If they'd told James not to go, he wouldn't have gone.

We get it, you back Benitez unreservedly, you feel the need to tell everyone repeatedly on a daily basis.
It’s the sign of a well balanced individual, congratulations.

Drenthe wasn’t just dropped for missing the team meeting prior to the semi, he also broke into Finch Farm to party with women days before that, yet people were willing to defend that and give Moyes, that’s MOYES not Moist, pelters for daring to drop him for the biggest game of the season

What a shock, fb92 backs benitez unreservedly after he drops another of our most creative players so we play CBs across the back 4, one of the things he repeatedly slated Ancelotti for (who did it out of necessity due to injuries and not stubborness)

Then he blames the fans.

Also says that we don't really know what's happened so can't blame benitez, as he takes his side over the player (in essence blaming the player).

Don't know, but it feels like a powerplay by the manager to assert full control with Brands having stopped a bullet. It's also possibly a low key risk, because every squad shortfall will be laid at the former director's door for the remainder of this season at least.

Haven't seen anything like enough from Benitez to give him carte blanche at such a critical juncture in our season. I also wouldn't trust anyone in this setup to reinvest any money from sales sensibly.

I would be far less concerned if Digne has been allowed to travel with the squad, but, as it's being widely reported that he hasn't then it starts to feel more like agent Benitez at work than sensible, pragmatic squad management.

Im not backing Benitez - im stating that he's the boss and anyone who takes him on wont come off well.

People can moan about that but thats life - go to your manager and call him a bellend and see how well things work out for you.

So you are just telling us what we already know. His man management skills are turd, thanks for clarifying.

It's not really comparable at all to this situation either, is it?

Like, Drenthe and VdM had massive issues.

Digne just challenged a manager who has been in charge of our worst run in 16 years. Allan also challenged him. The players know they weren't being played right. It shows they care and want to be better.

We all know full well Benitez will start 4411 again today don't we.

Depends who you ask - Marco Silva was a lovely bloke who gave players hugs and high fives and that didn't stop them downing tools on him.

Im happy to see what a bit of fear does for this lot tbh.

Yet is still being selected for games - maybe Digne overstepped the mark?

You dont know.
