Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

Cascarinos opinion has never been worth a jot, even amongst fellow pundits and proper journos. Bad witness for your case/agenda.

He's spot on this time though - we didn't have to sell him, he still had 2 years left on his contract. Yet somehow we managed to bend over and get dry-bummed by Utd again. The whole thing just reeks of another Bill Kenwright screw-up.

to be honest i'm glad to see the back of him. yesterday was a xlassic Lukaku performance, he did literally nothing all game, save for when we took off our defenders to chase the game he capitalised on the space to grab a poxy third goal. Rooney was much more influential yesterday than Rom would have been if he's been playing for us.
If Rom were playing for us yesterday, we'd have reversed the scoreline.

Lukaku has to measured by a different yardstick to the overwhelming majority of other players.
Firstly, he is after costing almost 100m and has been signed to win trophies for Man Utd.

Golden boot or any other individual accolades count for very little at the club he is currently at.

His job is to win the Premiership for Utd and if the do not do so and he scores thirty league goals then the season has not been a success.

Come next May, I think Utd will not be champions, I think there will be patches where Lukaku does well and at times not so well.
He scored yesterday in a game that was already won and has done that quite a bit at Everton as well.

Time will tell.

It was already won because of him though. It was a very clever piece of play to set up that second, killer goal. Amazing how much more rounded he looks playing with other decent players.

Arsed about this guy, move on lads, even when he played for us he was never one of us, great player yes but Evertonian, never was, just makes me appreciate even more those who represent us such as Tim Cahill and actually care about us
