Lukaku - Love affair over ?

The best line I've heard anyone say to describe was that he plays football like he's wearing jeans. So slow to react to things which is why he'll be a top, top striker in the mould of a Zlatan, an RVP or a Henry. Would still take him back in a heartbeat but I get the feeling him and his mate Pogba will be at United for a good few years yet. Short of a miracle (like winning the UCL) I think it's obvious that Jose probably won't be managing them by 2020.

Lukaku best 5 strikers in our entire history? Really??? He's not even in the top 5 I've seen in 40 years.... Sharp, Gray, lineker, Rooney, Ferguson, campbell straight off the top of my head.

I don't judge strikers purely on goals and on that basis he is well down the line.

Take Big Dunc..... he had to play with some absolute garbage. Dross. Without him we were nothing and people quickly forget this when they look at his goals. Put Lukaku in those teams and he would find his way into the centre halves back pockets instead of leading the line looking for scraps from the likes of pembridge and pistone. Imagine the moans and gestures from him.

Head over to Red Cafe.... they are all over him for what he is. He demands a ball on a plate and can't react otherwise as he's flat footed.

He is an oversized Tony Cottee. A penalty box operator. Our attacking mids would have a nightmare linking with him.
You're mental you mate.

Arsenal have been 'there for the taking' since 2007, and yet we never won there once in the four years he was here.

True, but he didnt play on that team on Sunday.

Imagine him with Richarlison & Theo either side of him.

He scores that early chance.

It's nice that we have the option to read complete wham in The World Footy forum as well as The Everton forum. Love that GOT gives us options.

Going to end up with whiplash with the amount of head-shaking I'm doing today.

I think we've already seen the difference that a player like him makes. League positions barely moved in the four year periods before or during his time here, and they haven't changed much since he left, either. In fact, I'd say that Everton were more of a threat to the better sides when they were over-reliant on Fellaini.

Lukaku scores a lot of goals, but I don't think he's easy to play with. Everton need to find a Firmino-type, who'll link with the wide forwards and also put in the hard yards.

We have one, but everyone currently hates him.

Granted he is not as good as Firmino, but last 2 games aside he was doing very well.

Yes, done fine to bring Theo and Richarlison into the game. Seems that West Ham game and his 3 missed chances has re-written his season form.

Although he does need to score.
I haven't completely given up on Tosun. He's looked decent for the most part, but he deserved to be dropped for that performance against West Ham.
