Lukaku to Spurs

If his touch and technique were better I'd be all for signing him. But that doesn't usually improve much after the age of 18 and his seems to be getting worse as the season goes on. I'd definitely rather look elsewhere for the money being talked about. Hopefully Mourinho just tells us to [Poor language removed].

If his touch and technique were better he'd be at Barcelona or Real Madrid or 1st choice at Chelsea and we wouldn't even be an ant on his concious

Why are people so certain Bony is available..have I missed something?

How much are we looking at for him then? Seems like Swansea will stay up and can't see them letting him go for anything less than around 18m...

I'd rather have Lukaku, if a choice between the two. 100%

If his recent performances have knocked a few £££'s off his market value then I reckon we should still be in for him. Reckon he likes playing under Bobby as part of our team and hopefully next year he wouldn't have to carry so much of the forward play by himself. Looked absolutely knackered today.

But yes, would definitely like him to still be here next season.

Honestly if Lukaku is bought, and here next season, I will no doubt support him. He's still class, I just think we need something more at times

The positives: He scores a fair amount of goals and is still young with a lot of time to grow as a player. He knows how to finish and he's got the physicality to give defenders a lot to think about, unlike Jelavic who was a cream puff.

The negatives: He can't do the basics. Has the first touch of a rapist, doesn't work hard enough off the ball and can lose interest when things don't go his way. He'll definitely need competition or otherwise he'll just stagnate.

Overall, I definitely want to keep him but only if we don't overspend, we could definitely get someone else. I'd offer £15m for him. £20m would the absolute maximum I'd be willing to go, if Chelsea ask for anymore than that then I think we should look elsewhere. The lad is surely going to be an amazing footballer but at the moment if we're going to break the bank then we need it to be on a striker who's already the finished article.

Some absolute basket case tweets in response to Dan's question about Lukaku. Some lad saying he wouldn't buy him as for his price we need a 25 goals per season striker being my favourite.

Because obviously any 25 goal a season striker would jizz his kecks at the thought of playing in the Europa League.

It's what does my head in mate, people seem to think '20' goal strikers grow on trees or something, atm in the league it only looks likely that Suarez and Sturridge will get those totals this season, last season 3 had 20+ in Van Persie, Suarez and Bale, the year before that Van Persie, Rooney and Aguero had 20+.

All those have either been sold in the past for a lot more than 20m or would certainly cost 30-50m if they were sold minimum.

Players of Lukaku's age and goalscoring record in a top league are comfortably 15-20m worth of player
