Simeone would be smart to look at Lukaku as an alternative to Costa...I imagine these loans are up to the parent team and seeing that Atletico & Chelsea have done a fair bit of business already, I could see how a loan would serve everyone's interests - except Everton, of course

Even without a breakout WC thus far, he was always going to command a lot of attention nevermind transfer fee but when you factor in his agent is pizza boy then I wouldn't be too confident of him staying at Goodison

Personally I think it’s crackpot idea, players are on enough money to afford their own secure and gated apartments - the money should go into the transfer pot.

I think its a great idea. The opportunity to have the youngsters on site at all times, 3 more intense and focused training sessions a day, rather than 1-2 in order to finish on time. Strict controlled diets, tactical awareness classes when not on the field. I dont think its meant for the players who have/are earning millions, I suspect its for the players who are learning and developing. It well documented that RM considers a certain age group as the forgotten ages.

Lukaku said he will sort his future after the World Cup, all the rumors about him staying at Chelsea, moving here or to Atletico are BS

Didn't his agent just come out and say he wouldn't be going out on loan again? 5minutes later AS exclusive:=> Lukaku on loan to Athletico.
Media Logic.

He's like a glorified Yakubu but a 20 year old one, the lad can finish no doubt about it. Feed him the ball in the box and he'll put it away. Anything under 20M is a steal, anything over is probably not worth the risk considering our summer budget wont be much more than 20M without sales.

Honestly struggling to understand the ones saying they'd prefer us not to sign Rom.

30+ goals in two years, 21 years old, built like a tank, apparent student of the game, loves our manager, our manager loves him, he seemed to "get" us even though he knew it was just a loan.

We've had 10+ years of jobbing strikers, running their nuts off. Finally get a goal scorer and people don't want him. Crazy.

Exactly, the majority of posts against us signing him seem to disregard the goals in light of the fact his first touch is poor.

Doesn't really prove your point or disprove mine that one mate. For a lad his size, he really doesn't impose himself on a defence (bar Hull away) and you've found one goal out of 15 or so where he doesn't score within the first few touches (bar City away). I will reiterate, I obviously do want him here and obviously no player is perfect at 21, but I worry that our record signing if he comes isnt going to be the rip-roaring success some seem convinced he has to be.

Be interesting to see the comments about him in his 1 goal in 11 game run and after the Southampton and Crystal Palace performances....
