Is Wolfsburg's highest paid player on 4.5 million Euro per season. = £ 3.5 million per season

Or £68,000 per week.

We can sign lukaku and out do them on salary without any issues.

If I have to quote the pound to euro exchange rate (1.27) one more time my knees will explode.

Our wages are bigger. 25% bigger automatically. Before Wolfsbourg can make parity they have to pay him more.

Our coin is worth more right now than Wolfsburg. Alot more.

It really is nonsense. The only attraction Wolfsbourg have is Champions League.

But then again the Premier league is far more high profile than blundersleague.

Unless you're talking about Bayern.

Wolfsburg arent in the champions league next year lid

Laughing at Fulham.

Increased their overall salary for players by 10% last season and went down.

Idiots.

Not sure that can be overly used as a barometer - lots of kids and big kids are overly developed for their age - their potential isn't unlimited. For example not sure what Suarez was doing at 18-19. Lots of young players don't continue to progress beyond 24-25 when they break through so early i.e. the likes of Rooney and Owen maybe. Notable exceptions being probably Gerrard, whose game needed experience and tactical knowledge to improve - but for Strikers not many examples of wonderkids getting better and better and better. Maybe Alan Shearer?

Not using that as a fact btw - just my limited knowledge of those players and cant be arsed to research it either
When's he gonna get that then?

One of the most tactically undisciplined players around tbh

Have to agree with that, the lad was one of the best players in the world at one point but he still couldnt play centre midfield as he was to busy chasing down men who wernt his to get cheers off the Kop. Lads who go an watch the [Poor language removed] who tell you this.

Even now Rodgers says he's the best holding midfielder in Europe, any team who concedes over 50 goals in a season have got a holding midfielder who isn't doing his job properly. Didn't see him muck in once for his full backs for England in the summer when they were gettin battered.

Sorry off subject but that comment was wrong in my opinion

Does anyone else feel terrific that we can offer more wages than an opposing team for a £20m player, because I do.

It's terrific but anyone who knows anything knows it's an investment worth gambling on and smashing the bank for. If he only becomes a slightly better striker than he is already then we will be repaid in spades. By the looks of him at 21 he will only get better, especially adding in the Roberto factor. If his value doesn't double in 2 or 3 years it would be one of the prems greatest flops.

It would also be hideously unlucky as he's scored tons of goals already in his short career, everything points to him taking further steps forward not back.

The thing I like about the lad is that apparently he loves football. He's always watching videos of past players and talking about wanting to be the best in the world. If Rooney would've had the same attitude he would be at Messi or. Ronaldo level now. The kid can't play with his back to goal or trap a bag of cement but he's only 21. All that will come

Apologies if someone has posted this, but confirmation from someone at the club that Lukaku fully wants to be at Goodison;

Former player and now head of recruitment at Everton Ian Atkins has revealed Romelu Lukaku wants to make a permanent switch to Goodison Park this summer:

“Hopefully. Those negotiations are out of my hands but I think he had a terrific year for Everton last year and I think everyone at the football club would like to see him back,” Atkins told talkSPORT.

“Hopefully he’ll be pulling the Blue shirt on next year. Things can be sorted out and he’s quite settled in his mind that he wants to come back to Everton and help us get back to that next level after the Europa League this year. And hopefully Champions League football the year after.”

“Hopefully Lukaku will sign permanently because he is something that I know the management team would like in at Everton and I’m sure if he comes in he’ll be a great asset.”
Really surprised someone in his position would talk so openly about this.

I've got to say that given the noises coming from the club, we'll look very stupid if he doesn't sign.

I think it's more or less done. Which is amazing.

This could be a special season.
