Lukaku

Well he can't get much worse

I can only assume from this ridiculous statement that you've never watched us when we suffered from having Saha or Jelavic up front, who were dire and never ever got dropped.

I'll defend Romelu all day. He's played out of position. With little to no help. In a derby away from home he was shrugging people off, creating yards for himself and getting shots off. AND, the thing people are forgetting most, his main strength is cut backs/running onto through balls, he got NEITHER today.

People were being too harsh on him again. He was being played on the right and it's not his position, he's a central striker, end of story. Naismith was absolutely garbage on the wing as well, yet move him into the centre and he'll do his job.

This, pretty much. Lukaku was poor for me today but he needs to play CF before we can judge his form properly. And Naismith in the form he's in is not droppable.

I like both to start in a classical 4-4-2, it'd mean some tinkering of the midfield quartet when Ross is back (*drops Barry to bench*). Eto'o to replace whoever of Rom/Naismith is not performing.

We generally lack spontaneous incision in the final third, I believe a pair of contrasting strike partners with Ross behind them would solve this issue.

I admit It may be the beer talking a bit, but I think it was far than a good game for him and I have seen him play a lot better.
And having held a season ticket from 1999 till a couple of years ago and been a regular match goer from the mid 80's home and away I have seen a lot worse play in the Blue of Everton on many occasion

The day he leaves I shall be laughing at the clowns criticising him when we have some £4 million punt from the Scottish league or 33 year old past it playing up top for us.
People really need to wake up we ain't man city and we ain't got hundreds of millions to throw at CL standard forwards

Yeah it's not like £28m can buy you a player who can control a ball. Get real eh. You need £35m his to buy garbage like Andy Carroll.

Who else could we sign then hero? Remy? Yeah sound can see bill forking out 120k+ a week on a striker.

Bony? The guy who has done nothing this season and would have cost roughly the same as Rom despite being 4-5 years older?

Negredo? The same guy who is homesick and wants back to spurs?

Soldado? Been quality for spurs that lad

You need to wake up lad after last season had martinez went for a gamble on an unknown striker from abroad who flopped and got less goals than Jelavic he would have been crucified. Lukaku is the best player we could have got we ain't in the CL and we don't chuck 100k+ wages at players

I must have confused him for someone else who kept getting bundled off the ball after a lead touch then.
Obviously because that rarely happened to Lukaku... I seriously think people need to watch this game back and realise how much he was a part of everything good we did

Can't believe the stick he's getting tbh. Was playing out of position and in fairness was doing a good job first half.

Naismith was poor IMO. Ok he worked his ass off as usual but his final pass was very poor. If he'd played Lukaku in the 3/4 times he had chance we could be talking a completely different game here.
