Probably from about the 8 chances he has been afforded by his team mates. He is a good striker but he has to play with 9 other outfield players who should be creating the chances for him to put away. If they do then he will.....if they don't then he won't.

Its funny Lukaku's Europa league record is so good, did his teammates only preserve their creativity for that competition and not the league as well?

A good striker should also be able to create his chances. You can't simply put all the blame on his teammates and absolve him of his poor performances.

Regardless of how you slice it, 8 goals in 30 PL matches for 26 odd million is not good enough. That was first and foremost the competition he was bought to score goals in.
 
Hang on a moment lads, I know you all like a safari hunt but let's be honest, 8 goals by Easter certainly isn't good enough, £28m or £2.8m.

Some of this must be down to the way the entire side was playing and the complete lack of service though. Also, he had to start applying himself and his bulk properly, which although he has started to, he didn't for a large portion of the season.

I rate him, myself.
 

Even Fernando Torres looked prolific for Chelsea in the Europa league for god's sake. It can't be that hard for a half decent striker in an okayish team to be prolific there.

The bread and butter is the league, and I know Rom has his defenders, and this is NOT an attack on him, but 8 goals all season for that price tag cannot be justified. It's just too easy to shift blame elsewhere. Maybe Lukaku needs to look at himself. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Good point. The team performance has been poor this season so it's understandable individual performances will also suffer. We really can't make individual judgment this season based on the season we are having, it's not a genuine reflection of the players ability.

You're right in a lot of the reasons he's not scored more mate.

How could he score more when we've been playing like a bunch of idiots for most of the season? It's not like he's missed tons and tons of chances is it?

We've not created much for him to score from.
