Lukaku's Everton Frustration

Gabbiadini is the second coming of Jelavic, without a doubt.

The rest... didn't we bid for Brahimi? Southampton were never going to sell us VVD after Koeman, and why would anyone get that arsed about Joe Hart?
No one said they were arsed about Hart or any of them.
They were persued by the club , for differing reasons they didnt come ....so we move on.
Btw Ghezzal was another very close ...didnt happen.

Sounds like there is a lot of butt hurt going on...All the "big" clubs have player drama like this with players leaving, etc...I mean look at Costa just last month.

This could be good, means we are on the right track.

Nah we cant just ''move on'' this summer. There are no excuses whatsoever and anyone giving them a get out of jail free card for a 3rd window needs to seriously find some ambition, or has a vested interest in the club. It's a massive summer, and they must deliver.

No just said he isn't signing a new contract and the club has no ambition and pretty much that he is off.

If you're happy with that from your star player then maybe everton isn't the club for you...wolves are a nice team

We,ve won nothing in over 20 years and the the lad will finish top of the pile for goals in Europe. Yeah I think I will take his words over Bluewolf from the internet wasteland.

We must move on Tim.
No point dwelling on things that didnt happen.
Yes massive window coming up in the summer.

Look at you..superfan
He is asking the board to back up there talk or get off the pot.
Straight talking facts that some of our fan-base cannot handle.

I don't understand where the superfan bit comes from, but whatever...

The point is, Rom thinks he is too big for Everton, and is clearly trying to engineer a move. He is a really good player, but I am not a fan of his moaning, especially over intangible things like ambition. It's biggest cop-out excuse of the modern game, especially when he rolls it out at a time when Everton are showing signs of it more than they have in all the years most of us have been following them.

You can have a player playing non league football who harbours unrealistic goals of winning the premier league, and he is considered a fantasist... until last year.

At the other end of the spectrum, you have players accusing top clubs of lacking ambition because they have failed to win something in a few years, all the while, the non league fantasist from earlier holds a League winners medal.

Would Lukaku have ever considered a move to Leicester? I don't think so.

The point I'm making is, I'm tired of players wanting to take the easy route of playing for 1 of the half dozen clubs who win on a regular basis, using ambition as an excuse, when the ambition should be to win it instead of these teams, ensuring they are the reason why, and proving they genuinely are the difference makers.

And before people point to Rom just wanting what the fans want, I will counter that by saying that us true fans, or superfans as you would have us be known, won't just go and support a team who win the league every year if we don't.

Maybe he genuinely is just trying to force the boards hand, and he wants to see signs of us matching his "ambition" before he commits. Or maybe time is running out for him to use that excuse, so he is getting his hits in early to cause the intended rift. And It's worked a treat as well, as it's completely divided the fans.

Either way, the timing stinks and it shows a lack of professionalism and respect. Whether you agree with him or not, it didn't need saying, certainly not in public, and I just hope it doesn't have a negative impact on the rest of the season.

Dont get this bit. Timing doesnt come into it, if it did, its not that bad a time to say what he did, after all we are out of all cups and can not win anything, again

No he isn't. It matters not who we sign, he wants out. If Everton had agreed to the release fee, his feelings on our ambition and transfer windows would never have seen the light of day.

He wants out and now Everton haven't played ball he's shifted the blame.

You're his market, he wants fans to believe him, ironically he has a point, but how we're we supposed to improve the squad in Feb, when he was 99% to sign.

It's nonsense.

He's brilliant and has been brilliant for us, but don't be conned, he wants out regardless.

He is only a player - imagine Joe or Duncan prattling like this - give me strength - never liked his attitude when he joined us - have been warned by my language on the forum so will be really good - Good riddance to bad rubbish - GO AWAY
Mr. Koeman quote: He also refused to rule out disciplinary action. Liverpool Echo: a forceful reminder that no-one is bigger than the club, however talented they may be.

The season is still ongoing, we have 10 games left, and still 30 points left to play for, including 4 of the 6 teams above us, and 6 what we would like to be able to call winnable games. Only time will tell if it has any negative affect on the team. Luckily, Koeman appears to have a better disciplinary grip on the squad than Martinez did, but judging by his reaction, it was not wanted or warranted, which suggests he wasn't happy with the timing of it either. Poorly timed.

Its also a month and a half too late to have any possible effect on transfer dealings, so if that indeed was a play to push the board in matching his ambition with marquee signings to prove we mean business, once again, it was poorly timed.

And finally, like I said, he has said this at a time when even the most sceptical and hard to please of us cannot deny, that we are finally showing more ambition than we have for almost an entire generation, maybe more. Whether that be the removal of Martinez, the appointment of Koeman, the money we have spent, the deals we are making commercially, the long overdue facelift of Goodison, the proposed new ground, the improved media presence, the publicity we are getting both in and away from the game... To come out now, and question our ambition, is at the very least, strangely timed, and I for one think it goes beyond that.

So yeah, I think poorly timed is fair.

Even if we were champions league every season, Rom would still be mouthing off that he deserved to be at a team winning the CL and pushing for a move. He won't be satisfied until he has 10 world class players behind him providing him with the tap ins he needs to get carried to a trophy that he's not good enough to take us to by himself. If he moves we'll be seeing the same type of look at me interviews when he gets a titty lip on because Guardiola/ Ancelloti/Contetook one look at his first touch and lashed him on the bench.
