That was after a year of proving himself in the prem if I remember right.

I honestly think a better move for both Garbutt and us would be to sign him up and loan him out to a lower prem team to get a full year of starts under his belt. I believe he's got a bit of special about him, and a combination of experience and proving himself would put both him and us in an excellent position.

Garbutt has though already been playing in the England U21 team along with Stones. So how much do you reckon Stones is on?

One never knows, perhaps 30K. How old was Luke Shaw when he went to Man U and what was his wage?!!!!!!

Garbutt will probs end up somewhere like Sunderland though.

Stones signed a new contract last summer...£30k a week. Luke hasn't done enough yo be offered more than 25k YET, imo.

Shaw played in the Premiership for two years ffs.

Its a fantastic offer for someone who has played less than 1000 mins of football in the league.

No need to lose your rag, I was just asking for info on Shaw to compare. So do you want Garbutt to stay or are you happy for him to leave. If you want him to stay how much per week is he worth in your view.

That's more than reasonable I would have thought as long as we give him options to increase it over the course.
Sterling is also currently on ~ 30k isn't he?

If Garbutt has been offered 25k with options agree that sounds pretty decent, enough to compete with the majority of clubs who would likely sign him you'd presume unless someone like City comes in for him as a backup.

That and a loan for playing time - hopefully he agrees!

I can't see a better offer being out in front of him unless he's guaranteed starts at a team around or above us. He's young and English in a specialist position so some might be looking. Something isn't making him sign but god knows what it is.

Luke Shaw doesn't seem to be enjoying his move to United

"There are serious concerns, particularly because his parents have spoken to the club about a lack of structure and support for their teenage son. They have every right to do so."

Hope whatever he decides it works out for him as seems a nice kid and couldn't honestly blame him for considering his options given he has Baines/Oviedo ahead of him. So, so wish one of either he or Oviedo was right footed.

Oviedo can and has played Right back though hasn't he? He's a full on utility man if he can.

And I thought Fellaini had an interesting fashion style!

Perhaps indulging in a little bit too much comfort eating to cheer himself up?

I think he arrived at Man U on the back of Moyes leaving, seeing a lad of 18 on £100k a week and £30m price tag, I think LVG just came down like a ton of bricks I him as an example.

It happened to De Gea as well. I think LS will be the eventual number 1 LB for England and UTD I about 5 years if he gets over this difficult stage
