I will protect Leighton until he retires.

Christ sake the lid turned down the "biggest" club in the world to stay and finish 11th with us.

Show him the respect he deserves, the respect hes earned.

LOL from our two faced support.

They wanted Baines thrown to the Lions after Garbutt pinged a few corners in the Europa League.

Then Garbutt was Gosling mk2.

Now he is the saviour again.

Better than Baines ??!?!

LOL

Its the same whoppers who were wanking themselves silly over Browning's four passes in derby at Anfield last year.

Baines has been the top assisting defender in the major european leagues for 4 years running (AFAIK). He also has more assists than any other defender in the history of the premier league.
Last season in the premier league, he had the same number of assists as Eden Hazard... more than Oscar, Navas, Aguero, Sanchez, Sterling, Tadic, Silva, Milner etc. etc. etc.

He's crap though... that 22 year old left back with one assist across all competitions.. he's got a better left foot on him. Much better than the left back that probably has the best left foot at the club since Sheedy.

Personally, I'm glad to see there are others out there that can't understand why people are slating baines.

Dont think anyones slating Baines. Just that after good performances Robles and Garbutt were dropped which was odd to say the least.

Also Garbutt should have been integrated into the side more when baines was out of form + id personally like to see more competition for places not just have the superstars old guard walk into the team when fit.

Baines has never been out of form.

Hey, Browning did alright whenever he played last season

Not better than Coleman like, but he held his own

As did Garbutt to be fair

Still, Baines & Coleman > Garbutt & Browning, but I think both the young lads ecquitted themselves well this season
