Was MOTM in the pre competition friendly but wasn't great today until the last 10 minutes when we were full on attack which suits him better. His set pieces were unusually poor.

All about cash this, because you can guarantee he'll never be further up the pecking order elsewhere in the PL than he is here...unless he goes to a club used to being in the bottom half - in which case you have to question his faith in his own ability.

It seems strange now to think but Baines didn't get a regular game for us for two seasons after he signed, he had to bide his time and earn his place, Lescott was our starting left back more often than not.

Again Baines had to wait for his England starting berth behind Cole, all things change and if he wants an example of how to bide your time and secure a starting place he only has to turn his head and look at Baines. For that matter an example of a player that knows the grass isn't always greener elsewhere.

So you're saying Garbutt should re sign, hope Stones gets an injury and Baines moves into centre defence.

Stones has an injury mate. Coleman had to wait a couple of seasons and go on loan as well, pattern emerging here Luke.

Exactly. Baines had vast experience at Wigan and then had to wait for his chance. Not something the hair gel king will tolerate though. He's a star goddamit..he must play now or he'll stamp his feet and flounce.

Garbutt has a few decent outings, puts in a few good free - kicks/corners etc, and all of a sudden he thinks he's Beckenbaur.

could be the reality check needed ! Might see we are a good option to develop his career because not the finished article by a long way ... Saying that good prospect and hope he signs !
