Technically yes, it's our ground now. Initially we had to pay a £2m per year fee to 'rent' the stadium with an added percentage of our ticket sales being payed to Manchester council. The council also had the right to organise a number of concerts during the 'out season'. Since mansour has come he's made a deal with Manchester council to pay one 'lump sum' to take control of the stadium, we have a Leasehold of over 200 years for the stadium.

I don't have all the details in front of me but whilst undoubtedly Mansour has benefited the east side of Manchester with his development and local employment opportunities he also "legged over" Manchester City Council by agreeing to pay an additional £2 million a year for the naming rights which he immediately sold to Etihad for £35 million a year.

Win win perhaps but one is very much a bigger winner than the other!

Wow, you sound like a United fan. Did you seriously count 6,000? Was the game really that bad?

Just FYI, even if there was 10,000 empty seats, it still would have been more than any average attendance you've had since 1970, 46 years ago! Nice little stat that isn't it? :p

Hahaha that's a really nice little stat. :p:p:p:p

Know what else is a nice little stat? :p:p:p

You got a stadium for free. :p:p:p:p

Now 'koff this forum you wum.

You're assuming then, that Arsenal won't have any decision go against them which cost them points this season? And while I'm
here, do you have the figures available which show the average attendances of Manchester City and Everton prior to your
move away from Maine Rd? I don't, but I know where I'd be putting my money on.
They're pretty much identical to be honest, plus or minus a few thousand for successful campaigns.

Another thing most people don't know about us is we hold the record for the biggest crowd in English football history (away from wembley). But yeah, before 2008 we had no fans and we were basically the same size club as Stockport county cause we all come from there, apparently.[/QUOTE]
I read somewhere and it could be a load of rubbish, that we are the only team to have over a 50,000 average home attendances in one full season.

This was before arsenal moved to the Emirates, and united extended old Trafford. So probably pre 1990?

Given how well City played, a point was well earned. Very nervy at the end when it was one-way traffic.

Looking ahead, while a win at Chelsea is not out of the question, I would take a draw. That said, all three points against Swansea are a must. Hopefully at the end of January, we will be able to look back with satisfaction at 6 from 12 possible league points, a cup final, and 5th round FA Cup draw. I'd take that in a heartbeat given our shaky defensive form.

Someone wrote on here we need Barry because we have a young team, erm Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Pienaar, Barry and Kone finished the game, has Moyes wangled himself a job at Finch Farm :p
Wrong. we need Barry because he is our joint best player this year.

When I look back on it now I almost enjoy that 2nd half enough to not want the win.

By that I mean it gives me great belief that with Baines and Jags back, that defence is looking in very good shape, much better than it has been the last 3 months, those two have been badly missed.

A true acid test of a defence is away at City them having so much of the play, and we passed it, 2 banks of 4/5 facing them at all times, we looked organised, we were very hard to break down.

You marry that with our superb attacking flair and you are going to start to string wins together, I reckon with Baines and Jags fit for the season so far we'd have 10+pts extra on the board.

It's a tough job, so why not help them make the right decisions? If each team could have 1 review per game, that goes to a team of 3 former referees (like they do in numerous other sports), they stop the clock whilst it's being decided etc I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that?

I'm sure every team has spells of bad luck with refereeing decisions, but because we usually have more possession in and around the other teams box I think we get a few more bad decisions then most. Over the course of a season it could come end up being 10+ points worth of bad decisions which is the difference between 1st and 2nd!

Maybe I'm paranoid...
Are you saying bad decisions going against you?
Because a few Real Madrid fans I know have used that same argument to justify the 'bad' decisions going their way.

Id agree with this review system getting brought in, no chance that Liverpool would agree to it as they would get relegated.
