Missed 15mins of it. So how was the first 15 mins then? If Osmans volley had gone in i think i might of collapsed with the shock!! Good point and a confidence boost for second leg especially as we had Osman starting too haha.. Anyone in tier 3 last night? Review would be nice as its where i am for the cup

. If Arsenal win the league by 1 point, then that's cost us a trophy, it's cost us millions in prize money etc. They need to offer a video review system, like in the cricket to iron it out because the referees obviously aren't competent.
You're assuming then, that Arsenal won't have any decision go against them which cost them points this season? And while I'm
here, do you have the figures available which show the average attendances of Manchester City and Everton prior to your
move away from Maine Rd? I don't, but I know where I'd be putting my money on.[/QUOTE]
They're pretty much identical to be honest, plus or minus a few thousand for successful campaigns.

Another thing most people don't know about us is we hold the record for the biggest crowd in English football history (away from wembley). But yeah, before 2008 we had no fans and we were basically the same size club as Stockport county cause we all come from there, apparently.

Great ruling by ref that Sterling Stones incident. Good example where ref read the game perfectly.
1. Sterlings last touch put the ball out of reach and he lost it.
2. Stones drew his legs back and tried to avoid whole contract.

Peno would have been too harsh ruling. Well done ref.

City can't complain - the decisions all went the opposite way last season. From BBC Sport; Manchester City 1 Everton 0.

"Yaya Toure's penalty, after Phil Jagielka was controversially adjudged to have fouled James Milner, secured a fourth straight league win.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez said: "It's not a penalty in a million years. Jagielka cannot disappear. It's a natural action to get to the ball. Football is a contact sport, if you look at the reaction of James he's trying to get up and fight for the ball."

"It might have been different had Hart not produced a brilliant one-handed stop to deny Lukaku after the Belgian found himself behind the City defence."

And Mangala commited two shocking fouls, each worthy of a red card;

"In a tetchy game of six bookings, defender Eliaquim Mangala was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card on his return from suspension after an ugly high kick on Samuel Eto'o left Everton's Cameroon forward writhing in agony."

we were under the cosh for the first 15 mins, then had a nice little spell where we had City under pressure

Human error by the refs. Always been part of the game, and their jobs are harder than people give them credit for.

Players on the field should play on until the whistle, and the fans should just take the bad decisions with the good and get on with it.

I wouldn´t have video technology anywhere near the game during the 90 minutes. Theres little enough of the ball in play for those 90 minutes as it is.
It's a tough job, so why not help them make the right decisions? If each team could have 1 review per game, that goes to a team of 3 former referees (like they do in numerous other sports), they stop the clock whilst it's being decided etc I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that?

I'm sure every team has spells of bad luck with refereeing decisions, but because we usually have more possession in and around the other teams box I think we get a few more bad decisions then most. Over the course of a season it could come end up being 10+ points worth of bad decisions which is the difference between 1st and 2nd!

Maybe I'm paranoid...

I thought Everton were good again last night, completely different performance to the first leg, tight, compact and organised. We played alright as well, but you contained us for a large period of the game and on another day could have robbed it at the end! Yesterday was the type of game were we could have done with Dzeko in our team, it would have given us another option rather than pass the ball to Navas so he can cross the ball along the floor and let your defense clear it easily.

I thought, had Aguero been less honest we could have had a penalty when he was through 1 on 1 in the second half, he was getting wrestled but still managed a shot. He should have gone down and possibly got your man sent off!

Anyone who thinks Sterlings claim wasn't a penalty is completely deluded. It was stonewall, I'm starting to think a few of these referees must have been raised on Merseyside. Hopefully we'll get a more consistent referee in the second leg who doesn't go out of his way to try and secure the media w*nkfest of a scouse derby final.

Anyway, back from the sore-drawers mentality: hope you guys enjoyed your day out. Traffic was [Poor language removed], but has been for every night game this season (and people wonder why no-one can be bothered going) if you're coming to the semi final make sure you set off early cause it will be exactly the same as that in a few weeks time. How they didn't postpone kick off is beyond me.
Hey dip stick, no pen, no prob, now get over it....cos we are coming to get you...see you anon bro...Keep The Faith y'all

I can and do have a problem with it. I like football how it was. It has changed enough , I´d prefer not have such a drastic change....the money in the game has altered it far enough as it is.

I have no clue if we have more or less "poor" reffing decisions than other teams. You know why? Because I don´t watch every minute of every game of the other 19 teams. And I would be pretty certain you don´t either and would rely upon, at best, seeing or reading about what the media decided were the key decisions.

So yeah, you are paranoid.

Yeah, not really much to be arguing about. Just thought I'd check out of curiosity rather than animosity.

Over the 20 Everton have a +2,700 average

Over the more recent 10, Everton are up +3,600 on average. Doubt even the most ardent internet-warrior could find ammunition there.

N.B. this was 5 minutes work, not to be misconstrued as some kopite-like labour of (misguided) love in order to prove wrr da grrrtst teeeem in der wrrrrrld, 6 times etc. etc.

I can't see that working, a lot of decisions rely on refs interpretation, watching the Swansea/Sland match last night there were quite a few debatable calls, if a team has say 3 video calls and then one that actually costs them would the following season ask for 5 video decisions?

That was the worst time period in our history as well. in '83 we were relegated, 84 and 85 in the old second division. We got promoted, only to go back down in '87 and weren't back up until '90. Our rise back to the premiership coincided with Hilsborough and as a result of the Taylor report we had to re-build the kippax which capped our capacity at just under 28k for a few years. Once completed, we got relegated, then relegated again to the third division. We got an average of 28K in a 32k seater (which is the highest ever average attendance at that level). When we were back into the championship the demand for tickets went through the roof so we erected the Gene Kelly stand and got a pretty consistent 33k+ despite being up and down the divisions. We moved to Eastlands and it's been higher than 40,000 ever since (despite the 39,997 season where we managed 11 goals at home all year - 3 coming in one game).

Bare in mind that this had all coincided with United winning trophy after trophy and most younger kids in manchester choosing to support them instead. Not bad for a club that had no fans before 2008!
