Well that was painful. and weird.

Weird because we dominated a large part of the 1st half and towards the end of the 2nd. But Utd did a job on us and we never looked like scoring really. The Baines & Pienaar show was nullified by Fergie's tactics as was threat of Fellaini. If it wasn't for the crap defending of Heitinga and Neville it would a have been a 0-0 stalemate I think. We don't half shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes. It sounds like people have been blaming Howard for the goals - not a chance. He kept the score down with a couple of superb saves, especially that double save after a Utd corner which Jelavic ended up clearing away.

Pity that the Old Vic re-emerged as his pantomime self today, going down too easily and then thumping the ground in frustration afterwards. I'd hoped he had put that stuff behind him. But if Mirallas' cross to him hadn't been behind him it was a certain goal, and then who knows what might have happened. Mirallas needs to sort his crossing out. Gibson was involved a fair bit and had a decent game. But Jags was MOM for us, no doubt about that.

I have to agree if we had scored they would have stepped up from 3rd gear to 2nd to get another goal - we do look a tired side & the loss of Distan was a disaster for us today a virus just before kick off - we do look so tired aging squad no youth coming through or being given game time by DM!

Roonited were good today

Everton were awful today. It's going to force us to have to win at Arsenal, Spurs and Castle Grey Skull to have any chance of a top 4 finish. Not the end of the road quite yet but it's going to make it even harder down the home stretch.

On a related note, how narrow were the seats in the away end? A kid would have trouble having enough leg room in one of them. The designer deserves a strong kick in the lower regions!

says something when neville was one of our better players gutless performance today the team didnt look arsed no fight for the ball really dissapointed no chance of 4th now. Scary thing is I can see us dropping down the table we look really poor at the moment and thanks to that redcoat kenwright no new faces have not given the lads a lift, Heitinga should never play for EFC again he is utter utter ****e nev is passed it but did okay today naismith is gash would rather mcfadden back, and Moyes is clueless at tactics, jelavic should of started and felli should of played more centrally Jones was all over him.

Spurs, Liverpool, newcastle even villa all improving and all strengthend in the transfer window conincidence? I dont think so disgraceful this club at the top.

Blaming it all on the transfer window is a bit of an easy cop out. Who did Southampton add to their team? Yet they went out at Old Trafford and put Man U under real pressure. We were ****e today end of.

new manager syndrome for them mate every player will be looking to fight for a place to impress the new guy, we were ****e but have been at times all season especially in the centre of midfield and a lack of goals which wasnt addressed in january which is why we wont improve, RS needed a forward and got one, spurs needed a cm and got one and newcastle's injuries meant new bodies needed and they got them, we on the other hand...

On reflection, a very disappointing performance, other than 20mins in the 1st half. Without wanting to invite a ton of posts about "big club", "transfer window", etc etc, a lot of us were reasonably confident that we could get something from the game. That has not been the case for a while, lets face it.

We dont play till Saturday. If the team do not know corner drills, free kick options and all the rest by now, they never will.

IMO, the team looked half baked. Man U were not great.

Take the whole squad away for the week, wives & kids as well. It is half term after all. Recharge the batteries, get some sun, away from the pressure that I think they are starting to feel, and go again.

Moyes put our cracking start down to a similar ploy he used pre season, so lets give it another go.

It was a good first half; pitiful second half. I think our players felt that doing what they did last season coming from two down wasn't on against a United on guard against that. They went through the motions a bit last 45 minutes. Awful attitude.

Have we really been awful today? I think we were average today. We played against the coming league Champions and they had pretty much their best squad on the pitch. We tried our best, and maybe if we are lucky we get the draw. but I don't think it was an awful performance today.

Lads be realistic, we didn't play badly today at all. I thought United were just what they are, the best squad in England this season. They defended really well and kept us out, and were clinical on the other end with their chances.

Maybe we weren't good enough, but some of the reactions have been a bit too negative. Moyes set up pretty attacking and made decent subs so can't blame him at all. The difference was the best striker in the league.

The season isn't over yet, and although results went against us this weekend there's plenty to play for - but we need to beat two of the bigger away teams (one of the top 4 chasers).
