For all the Martinez bashing that goes on here atm (rightly), I´d would like to warn against the wave of Moyes-nostalgia that has emerged here recently. Moyes Evertons were terrible in away games against the best teams. Just look at our record at the Emirates and Old Trafford under our previous manager - it´s horrendous. If anything, this was a very Moyes-esque performance.

Neither are good enough

"Everton manager Roberto Martinez speaking to BBC Sport: "There were two games within a game. Up until the goal, we were the team with a better tempo and we always looked a threat.

"The goal was a very soft action, it's not up to our standards. The performances were very, very level and we shouldn't have lost the game. It's that sort of game that came down to small margins - the ball hitting the crossbar is the difference between us getting something out of the game.

"We are a young group with great potential, but our home form hasn't been anywhere near good enough.""

Almost none of that makes any sense at all.
I've stopped listening to his ramblings after games to be honest. He's right about the two games going on though...there's the one he sees and the one everyone else does.

Our form is shocking, why are we accepting this? there are other clubs out there worse than us who wouldn't accept the form we have been on, just not good enough.

Every time Utd play, on the World Football thread there are so many posts about how average they are, saddens me they've taken 6 points off us and on current form might very well knock us out of the Cup.

Happy with the win, we didn't sparkle but got the goal we needed and kept you very quiet in open play. I was concerned looking at your lineup beforehand.

And that just about sums up the season... Everton this season being average at best.

van gaal says stolen victory, everton could have scored 2 etc,man utd were not great and everton barely broke sweat, barkley stayed on for 86 when he should have been off at ht at latest, its like martinez takes the players off that he thinks will win us the game at times,or at least set the chances up lol

LVH himself has just called said it himself - Utd were lucky and you can't disagree that we should have had at least one goal - with several good position wasted. I can only remember their goal as their only real chance?

We didn't dominate. That is an insane thing to say. I actually assumed you were joking, but wow, you're serious.
