We didn't stink at all but we were not as good as them, that is why we will finish below both this season.
We were every bit as good as both of those teams on the day. Over the season I think Arsenal will be better because of their attacking players but I could see us finishing above United. If Jon Moss didn't happen we'd still be ahead of them.

Newcastle were 45 minutes away from getting Mourinho the sack mate. This isn't Fergie's Utd, it's not enough to have them sweating when the likes of Derby and Wolves go there with no fear.

We didn't deserve to lose today but that wasn't good enough overall from us either. Some of that sits with Silva.

Derby went there when United were probably at their lowest point they have been in five years.

Their last three games they've got a comeback win, drawn at a title contender and lost to Juve. We didn't play with fear today, not one bit. We just lacked the guile and smarts to get through, and when we did, we again failed to create our chances. And, we were on the wrong end of a bad decision - AGAIN

People are banging on like we went and played for a draw. We were at them from the off. They have an outstanding player in Martial in very good form. He was the difference for them, and we didn't take our chances. We didn't create enough, but Bernard missed an open goal that would have got us a draw.

It's fine margins. Not mentality.

Here is my boiled down to the bone critique of Everton now we have had a good few games.

1.We spent a shed load of cash and we are better for it. We can play some football now. Well done lads. Who knows we may even get seventh.

2.We need to spend a shed load more money on players that will further improve the team again if we are ever going to be able to match the top teams.

This is football.

Uniteds two goalscorers = £150m.
Arsenal's two scorers = £12m.

That's been the difference this season in the games, as well as inept officials.

Looking for excuses mate, both will finish above us,John moss give a soft pen fine, but we have to take our chance we didn't if we had Martial we would be closer to them but we haven't

It's not really an excuse as much as a fact. Martial scored a nice goal and that's great but that would have left them with one goal had the referee done his job correctly. There's also the fact that Smalling should have walked for the tackle on Richarlison that I'm not even worried about. To act like we didn't play well is silly. Also United still have all the problems they entered today with.

There were a few players in contention today, but I've gone for Jordan Pickford.

We can blame poor refereeing all we want but poor finishing (once again) was the real problem. We had three decent chances on goal before their penalty, and De Gea didn't even have to move to stop them.

At the moment we are looking like a very decent mid-table club, but I'm optimistic that once we sort out a few problems we'll be up there contesting for one of the European positions.

We lost to a penalty that shouldn't have been awarded and a world class goal from Martial. We finished strongly, the Man U fans in the pub were bricking it after our goal. They don't seem too impressed with Romelu for some reason .

I thought Keane, Fat Larry, Gana, Digne and Gomes all had good games but Pickford has to be MoM for his overall play and nearly saving yet another penalty.

I doubt that the PTB will be looking at Martial's dive to win the penalty - he doesn't play for Everton o_O(n).

Who said we didn't play well I didn't, i said we are not as good, smalling could have gone but then so could have gana.

This is Everton! When we start to belive that we can punch above our weight, we collapse! Walcott was awful, as was Coleman. Those who can stand tall and sleep well is Keane, Pickford, Sigurdsson and Kouma. The rest was crap. Good night!
Thought Gomes was pretty good as well. Digne was fine.

I think you can objectively look at it from both sides.

Not many from us would improve them.
Not many from them would improve us.

Digne would be the most glaring player who is better than theirs, not Richarlison.

The fact that Richarlison and Bernard are of the same ability as their wide forwards shows the improvement we have made in such a short time.
I thought we played well. That travesty of their penalty aside, I enjoyed the game. They scored a really good goal and we deserved the penalty we got. Apart from a dodgy refereeing decision we did well. We are improving all the time.....

Steady on, a half positive post won’t go down too well on here......

No Gana got his last warning and didn't foul again. Smalling cleaned out a player with a slide challenge while already booked. And again we were very competitive in both games and were a couple of moments going our way from winning. If you want to be negative and act like we are still miles off suit yourself but we've taken a serious step despite the unfortunate results.

We played well. Got Mossed. But more importantly didn't take our chances.

We will games playing the way we did. We must take our chances though.

I'm really frustrated, but people need to accept where we are. I'm confident we'll be winning games like this next year. Have a bit of patience. Don't expect too much too soon. It's extremely disappointing but it's coming.

Points make prizes, not should of could of winning against anyone of the top six home or away will get us close not beating Fulham and palace at home.
