I mean that's kind of the problem isn't it
It's getting a lot better though.
I remember my wife's first and last venture to Goodison, Stoke 2009, took me for my birthday, sat in the Gladys and for 45mins had a guy (with his son who was 8 at most) scream at Liam Lawrence "you're only a r@pist Lawrence, dirty r@pist bstard" every time the ball was down this end.
Thankfully the wife had a few shandies before the game and we won 3-1 so it was overshadowed at the time, but when we got back to the hotel that evening she said she didn't want our future kids going to football games.
Still not where it should be today but on the right path ?

Maybe but winning is a habit, look at Fulham and Brentford since they have come up. We have become the Coventry of the 80s and 90s, always stay up but never do anything.
Well you can take a historical context to our current situation in many ways....for example, we had multiple poor seasons in the premier league under Moyes, and came back strongly in the years after.

You mentioned a desire to be a big fish in a small pond....I know it's horrible at the moment seeing us get beat more than we win, and sure getting relegated may well change that for a season at least.....however at the risk of a Sunderland or Leeds-esque implosion and plummet down the divisions into obscurity for a generation.

Flattering scoreline really we were still in the match until they got a very soft penalty which would never be given up the other end.

An own goal and a bad decision in the 97th minute after we were denied an equaliser by a tight VAR call is an improvement but it's the same old story unfortunately yet another defeat for Lampard and there are just too many of them.

Oh yeah at least it's getting better but I was baffled by the post I quoted tbh.

Saying 'but it's football' etc is baffling - it's 2023. Society has a problem and it's a reflection of that.

Well, I thought we would get beat and we did. After 4 minutes being 1-0 down I thought it was going to be a real drubbing. But we were in the game until that pen in the 90th minute and we were unfortunate with the injury to Iwobi and the goal that was offside.
not sure about bringing on Gordon for Coleman, that was a bit odd and he seemed to drift in for CB positions.

Just hope we stick with this 532 and get a positive result next weekend against Southampton and Iwobi is not out too long.

Very impressive display there. We need to build on that performance and the players put in that desire for the rest of the season. I thought Maupay aside, they all worked extremely hard and Doucoure looked a different player when he came on. Needs to find consistency.

I even thought McNeil worked harder than usual and gave us something tonight.

Gray was outstanding, they couldn't live with him.

bantz, innit.

i took her indoors to her one & only match back in 2014-ish, an away game. She endured 90 minutes of Evertonians screaming blue murder at our own players, despite us being in the lead (and ending up winning).

Her verdict was something like 'yeah, you have fun but i'm not doing this again'.

I want to try and put a positive spin on it but we're really in scraping the barrel territory aren't we. It was an okay performance. Better than Tuesday, but it would have been hard to be worse than that. Out the cup straight away; can't say I'm taking too many positives from this week that's for sure.
