I just dont rate him mate and cant see him being here in 2 seasons time anyway. He's a DOF who doesnt typically set up / advocate 4-4-2 which is what Ancelotti is.

I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if the owners are looking at DOF's out there who use this system as surely being DOF Brands needs to be an expert in a specific style of play if he is to roll it out from first team to grass roots & recruit top players who can play well in that set up?

We are in and around the limit of FFP and the accounts would reflect further incomings going to June 30th. It would be very risky to make major signings without selling players, and Ancelotti has been here 6 weeks, tough for him to ruthlessly make his mind up on some players when he's just settling into the club. The point that Ancelotti has been very relaxed about this current squad and only said we'd possibly sign players if a good deal became available should be noted. We are not in the bottom three, I don't know why you are so angry about no signings because Ancelotti is not. We will move players out in the summer, sign some HG players and make vast changes to our first 11 and squad.

And that's down to Brands. He has no ability to do much more than loan players out.

Just to give a random and not accurate example, to illustrate a point. If we sell Sigurdsson for £10m we have to show a £13m loss in FFP terms in the next accounts under player trading. If we keep him longer, and sell him for £8m 12 months later, the loss shown might only be £4m. These are factors the club and Brands and Ancelotti have to deal with. It would be easy to sell a DCL or Richarlison for £40 or £90m and fix all that, so we will have to see what happens this summer. The club are going to have to find decent HG players who are good enough to be part of the 25 and first 11 if they decide to move Schneiderlin, Davies, Pickford, Sigurdsson, Walcott on. I am just happy we are in the mix for top 5/6 and I think the summer will be great. I am glad you are so positive about Ancelotti if not other aspects, I think we should be more than confident that he is the main man now. The summer ins and outs should be inspiring I think.

We're not "in the hunt for top 5 or 6". We're miles off, and it's because we have too many of the players you list in your post. They are a burden for this team.

As for FFP, we would be penalised only for longstanding transgressions, and even then with a fine.

Can people stop making excuse after excuse for the poor performance of this man?

So a big fine is good? Good going further forward in future seasons? A transfer ban is good? Points deduction? We get into Europe or the CL but then get banned from competing in it? That's good is it? We don't have the commercial deals or revenue to cope in that event, like teams like PSG or Man City, we will be trying to comply at all costs. You are unwilling to be reasonable or realistic.

In what universe are we not in the hunt for the top 5 or 6. Man Utd drew with Wolves, Arsenal may lose to Burnley and Man City may beat Spurs today. We play Palace next and Man Utd play Chelsea in the next few weeks. We then take Man Utd on at home.
 

I wonder is there some kind of clause in the Brands deal that we cant sign any PSV players for a few years, £27 mill for Steven Bergwijn looks a good deal for Spurs and you wonder on the logic of a deal like that VS Iwobi.

Surely he and Carlo can have players lined up and deals agreed for 1st June
Does not have to be in the papers but surely deals in principle can be agreed

Maybe 1 or 2 high profile names and a handful of gambles/youngsters who won’t be ready.
We will not be making up the big number of points (look up how far away we have been recently) needed to finish 6th. We are in for more years of mediocre dross with a gutless bunch of players and frankly dumbfounding DOF.

I hope the mask is made of soft material otherwise it will make quite a noise when it finally falls
