Source???

Have we been seriously linked to anyone besides Mina? That's how.

As many reports in the Catalan media stated, and as confirmed by the player's representative Jair Mina to MARCA Claro, he is close to the Merseyside club, although a deal isn't confirmed yet.

“Before the World Cup took place, Everton had already expressed a serious interest in the Colombia international.”

Given the extent of the mess Koeman and Walsh left us in, the mind boggles at the impatience of some on here. And the fact we're not exactly dining at the top table of club football means players won't be tripping all over themselves in a rush to join us; I don't care how many names you want to bandy about. Brands has done well to lower the wage bill -- that HAD to be the first item on the agenda. He's addressed the LB situation and added someone who provides balance up front -- we now can actually field two decent wingers at the same time. Some of you think all he has to do is snap his fingers and problems are solved; give your heads a collective shake.

Where's that quote from because it isn't in that Marca article you linked.

So we don't yet have a new centre back.

In your opinion is this:
a) good
b) not good

Excuse me for refusing not to criticize him for this failure on his part. It's hardly over the top to point out that this is his responsibility and he hasn't yet addressed it. The facts he's been here three months matters not a jot.

2 months lad.

Also how do we know the issue is with him? As far as I’m aware BK is still massively involved in transfers.

I don't think it is being impatient to expect us to sign a centre back when he's had all transfer window to do it and we are now in the last couple of days.

We're not expecting every problem to be fixed this summer but that was a big one and should have been prioritized and addressed by now.

Didn’t Silva say (he wasn’t going to make any (further) decisions until he got to assess the squad

Yeah it does. It says the following:

The defender hasn't had and will not be guaranteed regular minutes at the Blaugrana, which is why he is happy to make the move to a side where he will receive consistent playing time.
Before the World Cup took place, Everton had already expressed a serious interest in the Colombia international.
There was also interest from Argentina, Turkey and Russia but no formal offer was ever submitted.

I think we've had a decent window so far. Picked up a couple of players that wouldn't look out of place at Top 4 clubs and made a decent dent in getting rid of the mass of poor players/excessive wages.

Would love to get a couple more 1st teamers in before the window gently swings shut, maybe another 2 or 3 out perhaps. That'd be about half the previous mess sorted in the first window really.

Alternatively, not going to cry if we do nothing much else. Signs are there that things might be looking up if we can get a system working with what we start with.

Is 2 months not enough to get a centre back in?

So it's just a matter of picking a name and signing him? It's not quite than simple. Players have to be available for the right price and also have to want to sign for us. And what if other teams show an interest? Then you have what's happening with Mina. Rare is the case when only two clubs are in the picture; there are usually other suitors. Teams aren't going to meekly surrender just because it's Everton on the other end of the line, sad to say.
