I’m going to the ‘40 since 30’ do at the Liner at the end of the month. i will be listening to the likes of Latchford, Mountfield, Davey Thomas, Mick Pejic, Mark Higgins etc. talk about the season Big Bob got his 30 goals. We won nothing that season, but what I wouldn’t give to see that level of footy at Goodison again. If the New DOF can emulate that, i will be happy chappy.
The appointment of a new manager and new director of football will, in my opinion, be done in tandem . They will each need to know who else is coming and be comfortable that they can work together. They are going to need to hit the ground running and have targets lined up as their is a very compacted window this summer.
When we see one of the positions filled it will give us a clue about who may fill the other.
Until I hear something from a reliable source about a new manager I am choosing not to believe anything as agents will use us to create interest about their client in England and around Europe.
