As loathe as I am to have Walsh hang around, they may change his remit. Players under £5m and future prospects on his radar and the serious signings to sit with Brands. It would make sense to use Brands contacts, agent network to recruit players to the first team.

PSV tend to sign players under £10m and potential future players. My hope is that it goes wholesale to Brands and he's given the chance to mould a style for the club.

My point was more around how can they both be compatible in the role? Can't see Walsh stepping aside and I can't imagine Brands wanting to work in tandem.

Is that not more down to how skint AZ and PSV are in world football.

Pretty sure they signed Kone for about that about 10 years ago. Surely it's higher than that?

One of whom being Arouna Kone their second biggest signing.
Rapers and pillagers of Heerenveen and Groningen.

Giving someone an effective demotion in lieu of the sack / clean break is a strategy that rarely works, from my own observations anyway.

Walsh has been a categorical failure in the DOF role, and IMO it's best that we start afresh.

If Brands is joining, he should have the final say on all football-related appointments. It wouldn't be a particularly good start retaining Walsh on the staff as a continuance of the old boys network, and people in jobs at the club on a nod and wink basis.

We need a proper clearout, a full rebuild, and proven failures to be replaced.

I don't see why we are going to bring this guy in and still keep Walsh in the same role, it's a 1 man job. I have to be honest i have totally lost faith in what Moshiri is doing, he is starting to look like he is way out of his depth trying to run a football club.

I'm sure I read an article a while back that said Brands would come in as DoF and Walsh would lead the scouting network.
