Don't see the point of Walsh sticking around if Brands is in. Imagine the mess we are in and then imagine it 10 times more with these two working together and the manager in between.

I suppose the idea would be that Brands would be director of football, Walsh would head up scouting.

However given that Brands would presumably already have a trusted network of scouts, and is known for his spotting of cheap, young talent and his desire to promote youth team players. So what would Walsh do?

Do they share a vision of how the game should be played?

What is it about PSV that we have decided they are the model to emulate?

Will Brands be a proper DoF and therefore be recruiting the head coach?

I said ages ago Walsh contract was making it to expensive to sack him, if this is true it backs it up, just hope Brands has him making the tea and emptying bins as that is more his level

Everton are on the lookout for a new technical director and have been heavily linked with Marcel Brands, who has been with PSV since 2010.

Appearing on Fox Sports show De Tafel van Kees, PSV general manager Toon Gerbrands confirmed that Everton have approached Brands, “They have recently reported to him, but also twice before. A year ago and a half year ago.

“So it has not gone through twice and even now the contract is not complete at all. Everton also has to report to PSV, that is not the case. They have only reported to Marcel, and he has informed us nicely about this. If you know Marcel, it is not done yet.

“His feeling must be one hundred percent good. It must be 100 percent accurate. If it is not quite right yet and his feeling is not good, he just says no. The fact that he has a conversation with them does indicate that he is considering it. “

Glad Moshiri is indicating his unhappiness by going for this guy. But the structure could be a dog's dinner and needs to be addressed. Just get rid of Walsh. He's had his chance and blown it.

I suspect he may want to know who the manager is before making a decision.

Hopefully he's waiting to hear that he has a free hand getting shut of tosh like Baines, Jagielka and Williams, and that he can sell the Koeman failures half price to get shut before a new manager is named. That'd take any pressure and a lot of the workload off the incoming manager and allow him the necessary time to identify targets he wants to suggest to Brands and look through what we have at the club - including academy players.

Even twin roles in the kitchen and yard might be a risk unless walsh is heavily supervised

Allardyce, Lee, Shakespeare, Walsh, Brands.

Surely, surely not.

A new manager needs bringing in, then adios too to Walsh and the other Allardyce cronies.

We paid Leicester compo for Walsh.
Now we're going to pay him off after sacking him.

Same with Koeman.

And Moshiri is a billionaire businessman right ?

This is the thing that really concerns me. Koeman hadn’t been offered a new contract by Southampton. We come in & they somehow hardball us into paying compensation. Walsh the same. We then pay 12x what Ashley Williams is worth. Bolasie, Klaasen, Sigurdsson.... Allardyce held out for an 18 month contract...

Soft touch doesn’t begin to cover it.
