Yeah, it's "impossible" to sell players in today's transfer market. No other clubs sell either. It's actually a wonder with so few sales how PL transfer totals are smashed summer in summer out.

Is the belief that these players will suddenly increase their market value after being on loan for a year and having less time of their contract left with Everton?

Two players in two windlows he's sold so far. He's generated about £25M in sales. The feller's hopeless at sales.
Only six PL clubs have bought players this window

The most prohibitive factor to getting players out the door is the wages they are on.

Bolasie 70k p/w, Schneiderin 120k p/w, Sandro 120k p/w............the list goes on.

Players who have no long term future at the club but are on massive contracts. Handed to them by a previous manage and/or DoF. There's not many teams in World Football who can pay those types of wages. Certainly not pay those wages on players who haven't fulfilled their potential or wh are a long way from their peak years.

Pinning this on Brands is nonsense in my opinion. Trying to judge a DoF after 1 transfer window is nonsense. Let's see how's he done in 2 or 3 years time. That's the type of time frame, if things go well, that he'll need to help turn thing around.

They are NOT REPRESENTATIVE of the wages that most of the 19 out on loan are on though, as you well know.

This window has been nothing short of a failure.

Not if you listened to what they told you before it opened and have continued to tell us since. We need to offload the wages to free up funds, it's out there, they have told us again and again so whats the failure. the team on the pitch is the failure and the fact they are forcing us into a market we don't want to shop in.

That’s part of the failure. Brands job is to move players on and he has failed, thus far, to negotiate deals to get rid of the deadwood.

This has been done to death,if nobody wants them or are unwilling to match wage demands then he can't force clubs to buy them, we aren't selling fantastic players we are selling ones we don't want because they aren't good enough or haven't played good enough for us.

I can blame him for issuing a directive that we need to sell one or two to get one in the fold....having first of all LOANED out most of our saleable players.

The feller is a lightweight when we needed an industry leader.

Laughing at the credibility and Kudos that was heaped on him last summer when 6 months later we can see his purchases were to say the least hit and miss and he hamstrung us in terms of selling players to now make any difference in the January window.

We never have much luck with Dutchmen innit.

Ray Atteveld

Van der Meyde

Royston Vasey

Johnny H

Koeman

Koeman frere

Now this permatanned truant....:(

Then our demands are too high. Drop the prices, drastically if needs be. What’s the point in having them around?

To be fair to Steve Walsh he wasnt bad at sales and clearing deadwood, Cleveley, Ovideo, Gibson, McGeady, Pienaar, Kone, Howard and his numerous loans. He brokered the Lukaku and Stones deals as well, nothing to shout about really as in the loss of those players.

Pity about some of the ins, but i tend to blame the trinity for that Walsh/Koeman and Kenwright - everyone got a bit of something.

Im not to miffed about Ins under Brands, its the outs i think the club badly needs that we are struggling with.

I think hes doing well to hold his powder with no ins, we definitely need to take our medicine this window, but we do need outs.

dropped a massive clanger on the Bolaise deal and needs calling on it IMO if nothing else materialises.
