On one side we have Walsh, who came from a side who pulled off probably the most incredible stunt in living memory. With players plucked from obscurity. Vardy, Kante, Mahrez etc. He comes here & we pay massively over the odds for known carthorses like Williams, Sigurdsson & Bolasie (surely all Koeman choices, not his). He is scapegoated & leaves as a failure.
On the other side we have a board with a proven track record for utter ineptitude.
That’s a constant.
If Walsh said he had those deals lined up, I suspect he did. He’s unlikely to say it unless he could provide evidence, he’d be opening himself up to legal action.
Brands is looking like a dud now. Starting the season without a striker & CB. No manager lined up....
We’re either repeatedly hiring duds or they’re being prevented from doing their roles. Either way points to the board.

Kenwright and his cohort will never give up influence at the club lightly or voluntarily. Even the majority of the "Senior Management Team" team announced by DBB were local figures, and people returning to the club or moving from clubs and organisations in the north-west.

But I wouldn't be surprised if he is unhappy. Everton is a very difficult place if your intention is to reform and re-structure. The vested interests are still in control of the ship.

So, if Ive got that right, Brands has to be able to make all football decisions himself, including retaining Silva to the end of the season, but also be ready to defer to Moshiri on getting shut of Silva in the coming days, if that's what the owner wants?

Really? They weren't great, but I think Allardyce's team had much more about it. This lot are mentally weak and bang average talent-wise. Which indicates to me there's been no due diligence.
