2019/20 Marcel Brands

Brands, Ancelotti and Digne (would add Gomes to this list to if his leg wasn't smashed to smithereens) are the only bright spots at the club at this time. You can't judge someone over 18 odd months, to rebuild a football club top to bottom takes far longer. Especially given the sheer amount of gash we have floating around on mega contracts and we still have a journey to be seen as a top destination. Carlo may help with that now but people are dreaming that overnight (or in a couple of transfer windows) all our problems will have vanished.

If money was all that it takes utd would be top of the league right now. We still have some progress to make to then make Brands job easier, at the moment people on here are expecting him to unearth diamonds on the cheap to take on the established superstars of the PL that play for clubs that have CL/Europa football. It's plain delusional.

That said everyone needs to do better, but no one man is a miracle worker.

Brands is a bright spot? His recruitment has been terrible aside from a couple. We don't need him now we have Ancelotti. Needs to be given his P45 ASAP

Usual typical crap on this thread.

Only 6 months ago everyone was raving about him and how cheap we were getting players.

Now...its the usual throw him to the wolves rubbish on here.

He is part of the big plan and will continue to bring quality players in at a low price.

Stop ridiculing everything thats over 6 months old and support this club

I thought long and hard about Richarlison (ooh err missus!), but I don't think he is irreplaceable and here is my workings out: If he is a striker he simply doesn't score enough to be a top, top player and to me he seems a better forward than a winger.

Don't get me wrong he is pretty far down the list of people to think about changing as can possibly be, but in my eyes we'll have to see more from him before he moves to my untouchables list. Hopefully he does make that leap.
I wouldn't go untouchable but he's a very young talented lad, Scored 13 last year and already on 6 so far. We should be looking to build the team around him and Digne, The rest could get sold if they wanted to apart from maybe Gomes cause he can walk into any team if he's proper on it.

I can't actually believe you're saying he'll "continue to bring quality players in at a low price" with a straight face. Embarrassing.

And did he really insist on him staying or did you find that out on twitter from some no mark?

As useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.
But enough about your time on this message board.

The real story is not understanding that the only reason Ancelotti is here is Brands. But you know that, because based on everything you have said you dont think either Kenwright or "The Carpetbagger" as you call him are smart enough to have convinced him themselves. Backed yourself into a corner of ridiculousness as usual, carry on!

Brands has done alright so far, only really poor buy has been Delph. Gbamin and Gomes are good players but both had bad injuries. Sidibie was a clever little loan. Digne, Bernard, Mina, and Richarlison are our best players he brought them all in. Kean has potential and Iwobi is a decent player as a ten. He has a big test now Carlo is in to get that spine improved though. Midfield and another quality centre back are first then a more seasoned striker than the young players we have up top.
