Brands has been hopeless - and he's been at the club for a long time.

I bet his working day consists of logging on to his Internet banking, seeing how much he has in his current account and laughing his head off.

For me, I doubt whether sacking Brands will fix the root issues if Moshiri and the managers still aren't expected to work to some form of coherent, long-term plan.

I'm not saying Brands is blameless, but it's been clear that each manager has influenced the transfers alongside the owner making purchases at will.

We need to have a DoF who can do exactly what the job entails - direct the footballing side of the club with style of play, purchases and appointing managers.
I agree, he had a good window when we signed Silva then he had a bit of a shocker the 2nd season which wasn’t helped by Ghamins injury. I think he’s been sidelined with the exception of Doucoure and Godfrey signings so his influence has been removed since Ancellotit and now Benitez that are more short term appointments and aren’t looking to building a young progressive team. But them 2 appointments are on the owner. I thought Ancellotti was a great coup as most fans did but in hindsight I honestly think this as added to the malaise. Sometimes it’s better to take 2 steps back to make 3 steps forward. I know people didn’t like Silva but i honestly think he was closest to getting us going in the right direction and we played our best football under him. But he didn’t quite have the experience to cope with the job, that coupled with Pickford having worst spell in the history of the club. But I do think we have gone backwards and part of that is hiring a director of football and then not allowing him to do the job in hand. Blame brands if you like but the club is a complete parody.

Get someone who knows what they are doing or go back to the Moyes model.
I think it's just a terrible model right now. We've employed like 6 managers in 5 years with VASTLY different styles of football. If we go back to the Moyes model of "let the manager bring in whomever" we are going to be just as bad if not worse than we are now. The idea of a DoF is sound in an era which a manager gets about a year. Whatever the issue is with Brands, whether he's awful at his job or just being overridden, we need SOME semblance of a long term strategy.

Then again, literally nothing about this club has indicated they know what they are doing next week much less next year.

Need a new DOF with some balls and the desire to come in and shake things up. No chance we get one though - that would require competent leaders making sensible decisions.

Have a walk out on the 30th minute to signfy the average number of millions spent on tripe players this 'kin Dutch clown has paid out.
The same thing has happened to Brands as what happened to Walsh with Koeman. Gettting overruled by egotistical managers. He’s made some bad signings but also made some good ones but he’s not solely to blame in this debacle. There more to this, Like it’s not all down to Benitez but he is short termist and he probably won’t risk blooding young players if it saves him. Just like Ancelloti didn’t. No wonder we lost that promising 17year old left back to Southampton. We need everyone at the decision making level of the club pulling in the same direction but it looks like everyone are preserving their own positions at the detriment of the club. I know you can’t stand him but he’s not the main problem in my opinion. If that means taking a backwards step to take 2 forward steps that’s the pain we have to endure.
