I'm not sure how to gauge it but probably if it came to what happened in the end with Martinez - i.e. it being clear the players have lost faith. I really don't see that happening.

He shouldn't - and i don't think he will - go anywhere this season. If we've had a poor season in terms of a finish (like 11th/12th/13th) then the pressure will obviously be on... rightly so.
I kind of feel like I see the players doing that now which is madness honestly. They look bereft of ideas. Which is on Silva because HIS job is to make them a) have ideas and b) have confidence they can execute his plan.

You know my stance, it's just getting harder each week to say "he isn't going anywhere this year" when we have underperformed for months. A BIG chunk of that has to be put on the manager to get them ready.

We need to get to 40 points asap. Take stock in the summer and if we get 2 or 3 really bad results early on next season, no matter who we play, particularly at home then questions need to be asked.

If he picks a duff team on Saturday he's done.

Go a goal down early and Goodison will turn on him IMO.

But the thing is, all of our players look knackered.

It's all good saying 'pick a strong team' but any team we put out should be able to beat Lincoln.

Digne, Keane, Zouma, Richarlison, Gomes, Walcott. They all look shot and out of form. All of them really need to be dropped/rested.

And I know you'll complain if the sheet says 'seven changes' on Saturday, even though all of those changes will be justified and will be from a team that has just lost and is in no form at all.

He played NO ONE. His schedule was a complete cakewalk. He also did not have us in top 6 in terms of form, he moved us up 2 points as we were 2 points out of 8th when he started. Beyond that, it was LUCKY. We created nothing and got lucky as hell and we were STILL terrible.
No he literally did have us top 6 in form since he came in.

Since Sam came in if you had all the teams at 0 PTS from that moment and went to the end of the season, we were 6th just behind arsenal or something. There was a full table done by Sky and that. It was facts. No matter how crap the football was, it was facts

That's the thing Toff, if we got rid of Silva and brought another manager in, and if after 6 months we were no better under that manager than we were under Silva, do we then get rid of that new manager. We may as well just have a set of revolving doors fitted to the managers office at Finch farm.

We just just have a selection board of fans/club officials selecting the team, would save us a lot of time and money that way

A poor season is 8th/9th/10th/ lower.

Trying to drop the acceptable positions is ridiculous.

Knackered ?
Out of form ?

We scored 5 less than a week ago.

I'd say Digne is the only one who isn't out of form or in desperate need of a rest. Zouma deffo doesn't need resting. The rest need dropping though before even considering resting them

Kept the same side round October November that kept winning / went on an unbeaten run. Since we've been changing it round constantly we've struggled for consistency.

I do not think we have a good enough squad to be rotating players. We only have three or four genuinely quality players (Gomes, Zouma, Bernard, potentially Richarlison) Until we have more quality, we need to stick as close to the best side as possible imo.

I agree that they look bereft of ideas - or at least did today and in the last few games - but I don't think we can say that in the long term they have been. With Martinez it was clear from that West Ham 3-2 defeat what had happened. We had a little bounce after with the Chelsea win in the FA Cup but you could tell the players had lost faith, and it was two months later that he finally went.

The players didn't look bereft of ideas v Burnley. Yet West Ham's players, who played Burnley on Sunday, looked bereft of ideas mate. Do you think they've lost faith in Pellegrini? Bad form happens. It's if it's sustained over months when the players clearly aren't buying into the style that it becomes a problem. It was five weeks ago that the derby happened. It clearly knocked us but we didn't not buy into Silva's style v Newcastle or Watford. We just lacked a cutting edge and made mistakes.

City and Spurs games may have knocked us again. But it's again not the players downing tools, as far as I can tell.

I also agree that Silva needs to work on a different style now. He has to come up with something. But he needs help doing that and patience as well. It won't happen overnight.
